Yes, it's closing the 1000 Series!

Nvidia are on a role of bringing out new cards and keep pushing the peaks of gaming technology at an "affordable" price.

The 900 series really looks impressive. I will certainly be investing in this for my new card (Need to remove my dying 560Ti Sad) as it out runs practically every GPU on the market and for the price it's incredible! $550 is a great price for such a high end GPU and because of the design of the processor and how efficiently it all runs means it uses less that 200w meaning the design can be smaller because it's temperature is not as significant. Because of the usage it will be quieter and will take up less room in a computer and still run at maxed out 4k graphics! The thing that really interests me is the MFAA, DCR (I believe its called) and VXGI. MFAA is a more efficient yet just as effective sampling (like MSAA) process and DCR is a downscaler/upscaler in respect (I maybe incorrect). The idea is that it allows gamers to upscaler the resolution of games to 4K but on a 1080p Monitor. It does this by downscaling but increasing the pixel rate to make the gamplay a lot smoother and solid, almost another AA method, it actually works really nicely too. VXGI is an impressive boost on lighting technology with getting to understand the reflections of light by using "voxels" mini boxes which react to direct light which then calculate the reflections on each individual surface without any loss in performance. It creates a really interesting look and more realistic feel to games that support it all.

"The GTX 980 might not be a generational leap in frame-pushing performance, but it's certainly a generational leap in power efficiency."

I'm no expert but it sounds good to me.

Yeah that amazing technology!

1100 series is confirmed! lol http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_1100_series

I found who comment he right:
The GTX 970 would be great to see, since the new low TDP makes this a realistic option, as an upgrade that does not require a new 1000W+ PSU. Additionally, 2 x GTX 970 only costs about €50-80 more than one GTX 980 at the moment...
GTX 1000 Series will be released next year. 1100 series in 2017... Slow down a bit, need some money here...
Yeah Smile

GTX 400 - 2010
GTX 500 - 2011
GTX 600 - 2012
GTX 700 - 2013
GTX 900 - 2014
GTX 1000 - 2015?
GTX 1100 - 2017?

where 2016? Biggrin

So damn only one year next gen GPU... I will get GTX960 or GTX1060 stay.
I'm on 680 at the moment so I'll wait until my card struggles or dies before I think about upgrading.
