I screwed up.. bad.

Alright; here I am asking for more help because I forgot to backup my LFS folders when I downloaded a graphics mod that broke LFS. I need to save my settings, binds ect ect so I can re-download the whole LFS directory but I don't know the directory for the binds/settings so anyone... help?

All you need to copy is your /lfs/skins folder and your lfs/setups/.

binds are in a .ply file if i'm not mistaken, I'll check for you in a second.

€: Copy your lfs/misc/ folder aswell. Install LFS again and replace the folders, you should have your skins / setups / tags & binds in your new LFS.

Yeah, I've copy'd out so far; "engine, layout, misc, mpr, skins, skins_dds, skins_x, skins_y, sound, spr, setups". So Now I've got to copy out said .ply file? Okay... I really don't know where to find that one. Thanks though.

Don't forget to backup your replays also, just in case you have some replays you want to keep.

So basically just backup the whole misc folder.

Keeping them all in case, got a few funny moments that I'll want for the future

Question; how do I permanently delete/uninstall the LFS folders from my computer so I can re-install it?

There should be an .exe in the LFS folder for uninstalling it at the bottom of directory.

Okay; I may not be able to join any servers on LFS because of all of the "OOS", "JOOS" ect ect posts (no idea why) and it keeps coming up with "Initial synchronisation failed". Anyone?

Maybe it detected some abnormality if you messed around with the veh folder? What patch you on? Test patch?

Test Patch - 6P6 (newest test patch)

The same error happened to me when I upgraded to 0.6P6 And downgraded to 0.6P using the old .exe. JOOS - CAR: Racerss error + Initial synchronization failed.

I fixed this error by reinstalling LFS, then coping my old folders back.

You should do the same. folders are: /lfs/setups/ | /lfs/misc/ | /lfs/skins/.

So re-installing it again? Great :/

Side-note, when I copied my binds folder (fkeys/MSG File) they didn't copy over or they were overlapped by something else.

UPDATE: I lost everything, skins, replays, setups, everything. Might as well look at the good side of it, a reset so I don't have a load of random skins, setups which I neither use or need. Oh well.

did you : copy the folders or contents of the folder for your setups, skins, etc from your old lfs, put them somewhere you could find them, delete the old lfs, re-download it. If you copied the folders copy and paste them to lfs/data (it would ask you if you want to replace files, press yes) and if you copied the contents only (for some reason) put them in their correct folders?

He has resolved the issue now…
