This morning, [TC] Racing crossed the finish line of the BurnoutCrew Desire of Patience 24hr 2017 in 2nd place!
Special thanks to our guest drivers: Przemek, Sami, Jesse and Joel for driving as part of our team for this race!
Having qualified in 2nd we managed to get up to 1st early on with a gap of over a minute and a half to 2nd place after the first 6 hours. At just after 4:30pm UTC we were hit with connection issues giving us our first time-out (which carries a 2 lap penalty). An hour later we were hit with another meaning that with less than a third of the race gone, we were 4 laps down from the leaders. We continued to push and clawed a place back before we were interrupted by yet another time-out which gave us another 2 lap penalty. By the time we reached the half way stage we were in 6th place, 6 laps down from the leaders and with the night stints coming up our mood was pretty low. Nevertheless we pressed on and over the next 11 hours managed to get back to second with just an hour to go. In the end we finished just 2 laps behind the leaders which was pretty gutting. That said, fun was had by all of us and after an eventful race we are grateful that we finished on the podium.
