On 2560x1080 the HUD is positioned as it's supposed to be in 1920x1080.
Which makes a medium sized gap between the end of the screen to the HUD (on right and left side, showed here: http://imgur.com/a/LafL5 )

Can the HUD itself be re-positioned so it could fit the entire screen rather than in the center?

I don't think its possible. LFS calculates where that area is. I think it allows a certain deviation of the aspect ratio, but at some point the buttons would be stretched that badly that the font rendering would be unreadable.

Chuck's right, it's not possible to make it fill up the entire screen. You'll just have to live with it

on the other hand.. you can post on lfs forum with the hope of taking it into account on a patch/update
