That's new too, December as a warranty replacement. Maybe the plugs are bad they were pretty bad. Maybe I flooded them trying to start when the battery was dead.
Does it sound like it's turning over well? If you're running a fuel that's high on ethanol then it won't vaporize enough in such cold weather. You would need an intake manifold heater or injector heaters to fix that issue
Or just wait for the temperature to go up a notch.
If you have charged the battery up and it turns over sluggishly then the oil may have something to do with it as well.
Came down to two issues, bad fuel filter, and oil weight. New filter on its way haha
I don't know old VW's, but if yours has hydraulic lifters, I'd suspect the oil as well. If low temperatures make the oil too viscous, it might not be able to reach the lifters, thereby preventing them from functioning.
Does it sound like there's no compression?
Does start engine turn around while starting it? Could be also a fuse to it
I'm pretty sure he already solved the issue, judging by the mention of the (probably clogged) fuel filter.
So there were 3issues all due to the cold weather.
1.Crappy modern fuels with Ethanol that turns into water over time. This as a result overnight froze inside the fuel distributor (which in my car has a plunger that moves).
2.The fuel filter got partially clogged with debris and pieces from the new line install.
3.As well as running 20w50 weight in sub zero temps.
1 or 2 of these alone wouldn't cause an issue, but all 3 of them resulted in the perfect storm. Got it running today with no issue. The new fuel filter arrives today; I'll get the new oil tonight and it should be up and running no issue woo!
Picture of when it was thought to only be a bad battery(which turned out to be an erroneous factor haha)
Bled and completely flushed the brake system after the line&caliper install. And I really recommend everyone to do this every once in a while even if you don't have air in your system.
I find it funny it is branded brake and clutch fluid. Over here they market them both separately at different prices lol.
Nice to se you got jetta running,
checking all lights so they are working, road trip on saturday with the car. obs not on market yet no time after work on sunday i may put it there.

That's the usual case, Ferodo just has this one fluid which is mostly marketed as brake fluid but... Apparently can also be used for clutches
The fluid is essentially the same. Brake fluid just usually has a higher boiling temp. I always use brake fluid in my hydraulic clutches(The Sonett was)
Not an image person when it comes to showing off my car, but here's me at my track day today
