Hah
I btw kinda like the new Alltrack Passat
Don't care for the Golf's that much.
Driven a few of those new Passat's and it's pretty nice solution of higher AWD chassis on a premium class wagon.
The alltrack is at our local auto show (Cleveland) I'm going tomorrow to check it out! The seats look great in all the pictures. I can't decide what I want lol. It's between a 4 door golf and a SportWagon Alltrack.
One thing to note about the Passat, our American built ones don't even compare in quality to the European Passat. The plastic and materials used in the US Passat are a joke. It's disappointing but at the same rate the cost is much lower than prior generations. Starting at $19,000USD as compared to $32,000USD.
Pfh. where I live the base model Passat 2.0 tdi is $57,000USD.

Woooow, here the cheapest passat 2.0tdi is 35000usd and a skoda superb (bigger passat) with 2.0tdi is 25500usd.

That's impossible o.O u sure you didnt make a typo?
About $37.000 for a base Passat 2.0 TDI (firsts sites I found) here.

Nope, that's the price in Denmark.
Crazy price differences around the world man. Our most expensive model is only about $40,000USD fully loaded (3.6 VR6 SEL). We currently still have a stop sale on all TDIs so I can't find an equivalent for pricing.
Drove the car to work today. Was a great feeling after being without it for so many months. (The stripe color mis-match is quite obvious in this picture, but hey I'm not complaining since they were only 1/4 of the real cost lol.)
At some point I will move away from this country and its silly regulations. Gotta get my free education first though, hah!
To stay on topic, cars looking great as usual, Blade
Quess whose brakeline snapped again due to metal fatique :´)
Goodbye another 5€ for a brakeline cause im too stupid to mount the brakeline into the shock absorber pole so it moves along with the suspension and doesnt fatique ;´) (well, cant learn do it properly unless you do it wrong at first.)
Golf Looks great Blade!

That's great about owning a cheap car. You can make errors
Got all these things lined up to get put in my car over easter, can't wait to drive it after.
05 sti gearbox (may as well be drivetrain) 6 speed.
quite alot of change just for the gearbox, i assume the ratios are much better
Hey we're doing that same swap on my friends STI swapped Outback! 5 speed to 6 speed. Let me know how hard it is lol.
666. Why aren't you in RDSR?

I'm not doing it myself, i'll be on holidays.
The reason its alot of changes is because the wrx has R160 diffs and a 5x100 stud pattern. The STI uses R180 hubs and driveshafts and a 5x114 stud pattern and everything is beefier and can take more punishment (especially the gearbox), 5 speeds can't handle track conditions/abuse and some don't even handle more power over factory. With the 5x114 hubs, I can run brembo brakes as well, they have a larger handbrake (great for motorkhana/autocross/whateveryoucallit).
Other than that the swap is basically lego, you just buy the stuff you need, take out the old stuff and put the new stuff in, no modifications required to make it fit.
