May you already wondered why I got only Mazda skins on my cars in LFS That's because I got a smokey Turbodiesel Mazda 626 DITD with 90HP and 230Nm of torque. The car was previously my father's, but he gave it for me not long ago when I got my licence and bought himself a bigger Mazda. He put 30.000KM in it, right now the clock says 200.000km. It's a facelift, which means it has the clear front and rear lights and also means that we are in trouble getting parts (for ex. hood) for it. It was built in 1999 and sold in 2000 for the first time. The consumption is in summer 6-6,5L/100km, right now in winter, 6,5-7. It smokes a bit, but whatever, it's a 18 year original engine. We are changing oil every 10.000kms. It feels awesome to drive, stable in the curves, but also soft enough on long trips, which we are using her the most for. The engine runs soft, problems until now: Brake discs in the front and wheel bearing in the front-right. Apart from that, there were no problems in those 35-40000kms at all.
Today I sold my Rabbit. It was 7.5 years of enjoyment and memories.
One of the potential replacement requires me to also sell the Eos, but I'll gladly do that. The two choics are Early('64-'66) Porsche 912 or an R33 GTS25T. I have a feeling I'll end up in the 912 as I've always wanted one, and any VW flat 4 motors/trans will work and the prices just keep going up. Maybe I'll finally break the "boring car" mold lol.
This one is my current favorite. It's a 1966 (4 screw grill, 5 gauge car) for sale for $25k, but it is not numbers matching (Porsche crate motor installed) and was originally Ivory. It would be a perfect driver though, which is what I'm looking for.
