Is the rep system not coming back? Thumbdown
Because it's not needed and people just +1 their friends (everyone did it), and there was no actual meaning behind the numbers.
I agree and disagree. On some occasions, i found it useful, others not. Sure, there may have been a little abused by others to rep your friends for fun's cause, or by jumping on others. But overall i belive it had good intentions. The rep system in my opinion play an important role in a community, giving the members the freedom to give a negative or positive to someone who they think acted wrong or did a good job with something. But it also gives more work for TC, to watch no one is abusing it.

I think it's a good decision by TC, but at the same time wish they reconsider it by reinstate it.

I guess, what i try to say is that for me it doesn't really matter, either way is nice.

Your new nickname will now be Eddie Jordan. Speaking for 5 minutes about something, only to conclude with a statement that makes the previous 5 minutes listening/reading pointless.
Dont Need to give reps..you can see how ppl act/drive/cruise/cop on the servers...and how good/bad/nice they are

My nickname will always be what i choose it to be, but you're welcome to reference me as an example of someone else. But this thread wasn't about what you want to call me, nor about how i threw away 5 minutes of your life. It's about the reputation system, so atleast share your standing point on the threads matter.
We are working on a more meaningful system. But the old system will not be returning.

Fair enough.

My standpoint is that I couldn't care less about it. I have seen users who have been bombarded with negative reps in the past due to an incident, usually involving only one or a few other people, and everyone else has jumped on the bandwagon. Whether someone has 100 or -100 reps, I am always open-minded enough to judge someone on my experiences with them, not other peoples.
So I can go bash things people care about and all again? Biggrin
Yes you can Malibu. However just because the rep system is gone, don't think that people are not judging you based on the things you say/do and will treat you accordingly Wink
Was just kidding, I didn't stop doing it anyway, because I never really cared about the reps. I will always have my opinion Wink
I don't think anyone cared about how many reps they had to be honest, except Cas Rolleyes

Sargento* Biggrin
I never cared about the reps system either and i don't think there is anything useful from telling people they did a good job in an online forum. Imo just bring it back and let people have fun with it, so less rules and more pointlessness please.

@malibu most people didn't see your posts anyway...
Not a case of caring about the reps, it was just a little bit of fun. No decent reason to take it away tbh
It wasn't removed for any of the reasons you're thinking of. We're just making a better system. This forum's been up for just over a day so give us a chance...
I think the rep system for some became a pm system that was not as private as they thought..

I'm not really sure of a way around it being used like that lol.. i'd say take away the ability to comment so it was a thumb's up/down system but then i'm not sure how that would work either..

Maybe limiting it? 1 rep a week per user or something..

Both have their drawbacks but I can't really see a good way of using it
The rep system isn't really needed here, unless someone is trying to recruit team members or trying to sell something they might want to check their background. But since we aren't a trading/selling/buying forum, I guess its ok that they removed it.
Nah we don't need it. We know who are cool and who are *Removed* Smile
