Basically all native English speakers seem to think half seven is half past seven. Or, at least everyone who voted 8:30 is not a native English speaker! Just a small pattern I noticed. Still need to give AM or PM accordingly, or is it 19:30? RE: The time 7:30 - Raz! - 2015-02-17 22:33 I think people voted for Half 8 just for the "lolz". RE: The time 7:30 - TigR - 2015-02-17 22:35 Considering almost all except the UK says it that way, i don't think so lol RE: The time 7:30 - BP - 2015-02-18 07:24 (2015-02-17 18:45)Audiojack Wrote:(2015-02-17 16:25)BP Wrote: The exact reason I'm saying we should just call it seven-thirty (i.e 7:30) is because there is no cultural ambiguity with it. No issue there. Obviously 7:30 is am, and 19:30 is PM. 24 hour clock with no room for misinterpretation. RE: The time 7:30 - Warped - 2015-02-18 07:49 People here in Finland say 7:30 as "puoli kahdeksan" which is translated as "half eight". I'm quite sure it's like that in every other language other than in English which makes it difficult to understand.
