So after being passed around from clinic to clinic for a few years now, ontop of all the other problems they've found with me they found a new one..

So what's the something new I got?

A new condition to add to the pile on my medical record!!

Sleep Apnea.. +100 points, high score!!

Ughh.. Mellow

RE: Something New You've Got... - Stevo - 2012-04-23 18:43

Unlucky Tommer Sad what is sleep apnea?

RE: Something New You've Got... - Johan. - 2012-04-23 18:55

When your sleeping, (with the disorder) you stop breathing. The doctor of my dad advised him not to sleep on his back (I quote: Put a tennisball on your back when your going to sleep, so you won't turn around on your back) to prevent him from stopping with breathing for a few minutes.

Wiki:

Quote:Sleep apnea (or sleep apnoea in British English; English pronunciation: /æpˈniːə/) is a sleep disorder characterized by abnormal pauses in breathing or instances of abnormally low breathing, during sleep. Each pause in breathing, called an apnea, can last from a few seconds to minutes

Goodluck with it, Tommer!

I assume it wakes you up?

RE: Something New You've Got... - Roba - 2012-04-23 19:07

Probably at the point you're choking.

Not really. You either start breathing again, or wake up with the feeling that your choking (wich you are).

RE: Something New You've Got... - Malibu - 2012-04-23 19:32

Well that means it wakes you up lol.

RE: Something New You've Got... - Tommer - 2012-04-23 20:15

Yeah I don't think I stop breathing completely because I do stay asleep for fairly long periods of time but where I'm not breathing properly during sleep is why they say i'm feeling fatigue all the time and why i'm randomly getting heavy eyelids at 2 in the afternoon..

weak muscles = weak lungs = poor breathing during sleep essentially..

RE: Something New You've Got... - Malibu - 2012-04-23 20:26

Is there not some kind of excercise to train those muscles?

RE: Something New You've Got... - Tommer - 2012-04-23 20:45

Well.. Yes and no, I'd be fighting an uphill battle because those weak muscles are caused by my other condition, muscular dystrophy where my muscles are slowly deteriorating..lol :/

RE: Something New You've Got... - Malibu - 2012-04-23 20:49

So basicly it only gets worse from here, sounds pretty bad dude. Sad

That sucks. I got a mate who are diagnosed with that too, his solution is six pills a day, which keep him from further evolving and growing, which also prevents his muscle from further deterioration. Haven't you got something like that in the UK?

RE: Something New You've Got... - Luke. - 2012-04-24 07:37

RE: Something New You've Got... - Roba - 2012-04-24 12:42
