Whatsapp for ~ $16b, Oculus VR for $2b. No sense at all.

Notch has his view:

What's wrong? Is it that Facebook bought it? Maybe it could be the new hope for it..

RE: Oculus Rift Development Kit 2 - Roba - 2014-03-26 20:06

All Facebook has is money. Money is everything. Mark will implement a function to the next Oculus Rift or whatever it will be called where you get pop-up advertising and facebook notifications IN-GAME.

*Removed* Facebook. Everything with Facebook is wrong. I totally agree Notch's words about it. ( Referring to: http://thenextweb.com/insider/2014/03/25/minecraft-creator-cancels-talks-oculus-rift-version-facebook-creeps/?fromcat=all#!BsmE9 )

Suckerberg is preparing for when Facebook stops making profit (not in the near future but look what happened to MySpace) and is investing in things that have longer lifespans. Wise decisions from their standpoint but I hope they do develop them in the right direction instead of ONLY turning them into cash cows.

He will implement Facebook to everything in order to keep Facebook alive, noticed, and profited.

I can just imagine it, getting a five second full-screen advert just when you are in a chase. Ew.

This is the right answer! The whining over Facebook buying up Oculus is over done. Facebook is trying to diversify, they're investing in and buying up other products and solutions because if social media tanks, they will still have a profit. Yahoo did this when they noticed Google leading in search engines, they bought up Geocities, started a mail service, etc.
