I think this discussion got a bit hung up on the word "expected".
Much of the confusion is already cleared up by Line 1 of Rule 1 for Med/Res:

Rule 11.1 Proper Behaviour Wrote:Med/Res must drive with care and attention at all times.

That line is very simple and very clear. No other Med/Res rule overrides that one.



Another point to remember that applies to all rules:

If something is written in the rules - even if it isn't 100% enforced or some leeway is given in the wording - it was put there for a reason.
For the vast majority of it, the wording was chosen very carefully, sometimes to allow some common sense wiggle room, others to be explicitly black and white.

We chose to write what's in there; think about why we might have done so. If we thought people should ignore what is written, we wouldn't have bothered writing it in the first place.

i think there is no need for any further discussion. i still belive the rules werent as clear as they could have been, but since this discussion started i noticed the problem getting smaller, admins takin more care and also witnessed some other users caring/talking about it.
so this thread might at least have been good making ppl aware.
