Volcano Eruption in Papua New Guinea - Blacktop - 2014-09-06 17:54

As the title says, it's pretty amazing...

I lol'd so hard at 0:29, where the guy says what sounds like "hooooly smokin' Toledos.."

Reminded me of this:

Nice video, does anyone else see the face in the ash at 0:25 - 0:33 seconds?

Seeing that shock wave is amazing! So is the reaction haha, I wouldn't be surprised if they are crapping there pants at the time but imagine the amount of natural pressure build up inside that volcano to produce such an eruption.

That's fantastic. I've seen videos of slow-motion shockwaves but I've never seen something that looks like that in real-time.

Awesome! Pete, if you like shockwaves you will like this video Smile

Shockwaves become visible as the rocket get through the clouds! (around 1:40)

I guess it's not directly the clouds, it's a Sun Dog. There's another nice video showing the same scene.
However, IMO the nicest visual demonstration of a shockwave is the Prandtl–Glauert singularity (known as vapor-cones)
