Google Chrome Extensions - Luke - 2014-12-16 19:38

Hey Guys,

I've been getting so fed up with Google Chrome lately, urgh. Ah well, most of the problems are sorted. Recently I had a malware issue, got that sorted but it left me with a bunch of problems which I couldn't resolve without reinstalling it. Tempted to go back to FireFox.

Anyways, my issue now is that I cannot download ANYTHING from Google...
I select what I want to download and it simply says "Checking...." then says there's a network failure. I don't understand why because nothing else has this type of problem. I've had it for some time now and I haven't found a solution anywhere (unless I haven't looked hard enough).

My Chrome is fresh so cache's etc cannot be an issue. My Network itself also shouldn't be an issue as I cannot find anything via diagnostics.

Anyone have any ideas I could try?

Thanks!

Reinitialize the parameters in the settings menu could help.

Probably some corrupted windows settings, like hosts file or proxy settings.
I don't know if antimalware things can find and cure those, all I'm using is HijackThis
http://sourceforge.net/projects/hjt/ and http://www.hijackthis.de/ to analyse the logs.

Cheers! I did a quick run through and I noticed "Internet Explorer" I presume I'll have to change the domain or something for it to scan Chrome instead?

Platform: Windows 7 SP1 (WinNT 6.00.3505)
MSIE: Internet Explorer v11.0 (11.00.9600.17496)

And then also Firefox popped up but not chrome.
FIREFOX: 27.0.1 (en-US)

Nevermind, found Chrome eventually.

Hijackthis is not a foolproof thing. It only shows up various facts about your system that may or may not look suspicious. Ie, changes that were made by malware. It's up to you to decide whether something is ok or not. Websites like http://www.hijackthis.de/ help you to decide by bringing in ratings from other users.
