Headtracking - Chuck - 2012-01-18 15:00

Found that today, gonna try it out later when I'm home. Basically like TrackIR but they don't need IR, no reflectors, no nothing. Well, just an ordinary webcam. The do also claim to work with LFS.

I guess some of you guys like to try it out as well.

I tried something similar to this before. But, I'd recommend using a webcam that has more then 1.3mp, I wasn't able to use headtracking because the lagg of the software seeing my face properly.

I tried that exact software and it works but i couldnt get used to it. If im gonna want something like that, im gonna need the TrackIR i reckon.

Downside with TrackIR is that you need to carry an IR reflector. The stock reflector is some weird thing you got to put on a cap. The "pro" reflector is some thing which you can attach to the base of your headphones. It got active IR lights which need to be connected to an USB port (the cable has been hidden on the marketing images Wink ).
So you always have to wear some bizarre construction on your head. I don't want that. MS Kinect for PC will hit the stores next month. At a ridiculous price though, but the only "professional" solution I think.
