RE: First Car - Crille - 2012-02-06 12:55

Golf GTI mk2 Biggrin

RE: First Car - Stevo - 2012-02-06 13:16

Lol Crille, you have not thought about insurance.

Corsa C 1.2 16v are prob the best way to go - good for insurance and can be quite nippy.

Saxo's as well, but depending on your location insurance could be stupid amount because of sebz driving.

RE: First Car - Ash - 2012-02-06 13:20

Saxo VTR Wink - 98bhp 1.6 8v Engine on Group 7 insurance. Or the Furio which looks like the VTR/S but is a smaller 1.4 engine Smile

VTS would be well out of your league as it has Group 14 insurance Smile

RE: First Car - Klurax - 2012-02-06 13:39

Old bmw e30 318 or 320 is a quite fun car for it's price... else you got the mercedes 190e if you want RWD.

But there is a lot of other cars to chose from too, like in Sweden, Saab and Volvo's are cheap and there is a lot of them out on the market with cheap spare parts, dunno how it is in Belgium but the e30 and the Mercedes wouldn't be that expensive?

RE: First Car - ZsoLT - 2012-02-06 13:42

Saxo VTS, Pug 205 (GTI?), Suzuki Swift 1.6 or GTi, Toyota Yaris TRD, Honda Civic EK9, etc...
I don't know the british insurance, so I just wrote my suggestions.

RE: First Car - Vee - 2012-02-06 13:43

Jappe is from Belgium..

RE: First Car - ZsoLT - 2012-02-06 13:46

Good luck finding a cheap EK9.

RE: First Car - Turkey - 2012-02-06 13:47

Get a reliant kitten! It's basically a robin with 4 wheels.
As a more serious suggestion - VW Polo and Seat Ibiza haven't been mentioned.

Btw, I believe the Peugeot 106 is basically the same car as the Citroen Saxo. Something to bare in mind.

RE: First Car - Bradd - 2012-02-06 14:10

Polo 1.4 8v, Corsa 1.2, Clio 1.2, Fiesta 1.25 Zetec etc. There is loads, best off getting some insurance quotes and then deciding Smile

Zsolt those would be INSANE for a first car lol Tongue

RE: First Car - ZsoLT - 2012-02-06 14:35

Ok, cheaper version Smile
Saxo, Pug 205 (non GTI! Biggrin), Swift 1.3 16v, Yaris 1.3 (or 1.0 if You want an extra slow car Tongue), Honda Civic 1.3, 1.5

New ideas: Mitsu Colt, Alfa Romeo 145, Fiat Brava/Bravo, Ford Fiesta, Lancia Delta, Mazda 323 (F), Nissan Sunny 2.0 GTi, Opel Astra F, Corsa B...

Everybody doesnt live in the UK Rolleyes

RE: First Car - Josh - 2012-02-06 15:21

In England, Fiesta's, 106's and Saxo's generally get classed as boy racer cars and have a slightly higher base premium.

I've been advised that a Toyota Starlet is ideal as a first car. They are cheap to get on the road, decent but small engine. The only problem is they are not that common, which is good in one aspect but trying to find a decent cheap one may prove hard.

RE: First Car - DopeyD - 2012-02-06 16:50

fyi if looking at smaller french cars, be aware that there is not alot of gap between the pedals which makes for uncomfy driving if you have large feet.

RE: First Car - Turkey - 2012-02-06 16:52

The XFG is also a nice little first car.

RE: First Car - Klurax - 2012-02-06 16:55
