VOTE: Track Rotation 2016 - 2017 - Ash - 2015-12-31 18:59

Evening everyone,

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are enjoying your New Year celebrations!

With the new year upon us, we are looking to involve our community with the next schedule for the track rotation 2016 - 2017. As it will be impossible to take everybody's comments and try to work a schedule to please everyone, we have decided to narrow the possibilities to 3 main options.

Attached is a poll, please carefully decide how you would like to see this year's track rotation on our servers.

Please Note: As our Rockingham track layout/InSim is still a work in progress, this would be introduced into the schedule as appropriate at the time of completion.

This poll will be left open until 7PM GMT on Saturday 2nd January. The new rotation schedule will commence shortly after the new year.

Kind Regards,

[TC] CityDriving Team

I voted to have a separate vote for the length and frequency of each track respectively, which is what I would prefer but then again some people actually enjoy playing maps that I would not. If that were to happen, it would mean the minority that enjoy a certain map, can't drive it for as long as they possibly could, due to not everyone voting for it.

Having everything on for a week whilst we only have a small selection of tracks would mean we would be rotating far too quickly in my opinion. There is a chance that we could get bored. I'd have to experience the one week rotation properly to give a proper opinion on it I suppose.

Just my two cents.

RE: VOTE: Track Rotation 2016 - 2017 - Connor - 2015-12-31 20:00

Does the second option mean that before the track actually gets changed, every week there would be a vote on how long each track would last for? Or will that vote be opened after this poll is closed and decided on before the new rotation schedule starts?

In any case, I think the current schedule is absolutely fine how it is. It doesn't allow me to get bored because 2 weeks is just right and actually goes fairly quickly. The only 1 week track being Blackwood is good too seeing how little people actually want that track for 2 weeks, pleasing nearly everyone.

The bold text is correct.

Leave the rotation schedule in its current state is the best in my opinion. We would get bored if we switch the tracks quickly and not many people get to play each day of the week. I feel like one week for each track isn't enough, except for blackwood, it's more than enough.

I find it funny how most people now prefer to have each track on for a week, but when I suggested the same thing most of the people disagreed. http://forum.city-driving.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=18103

P.S Yes I did change my opinion.

I can see your point, but as you've proven yourself, people's opinions change over time.

Voted 1 week each. Would solve the SO problem. Would also solve boringness of BL.
Everybody would be happy.

Okay, it might help the SO and BL problem, but wouldn't it mean that the community's favourite tracks eg. Montana would also be 1 week, meaning that people can't get the most out of their favourite track.

If you vote for that option, that would only create another problem, you must he able to see that, surely?

Yeah, not ideal. Especially when your favorite track comes along, but you can't play for the first week, for whatever reason and then would have to wait 5-6 weeks for the track to come back around. Sad

What if your on holiday for two weeks? you'll have to wait twice as long Tongue

RE: VOTE: Track Rotation 2016 - 2017 - Olli - 2016-01-01 09:59

I gave my vote for having each track on for one week at a time. That way the game won't become boring so easily and the tracks change more frequently. Plus now you won't have to wait so long for your favourite track to come back on. People tend to miss this advantage.

This is intense.

RE: VOTE: Track Rotation 2016 - 2017 - Connor - 2016-01-01 22:10

I still don't understand though. If the first option wins this, then there's inevitably going to be people asking that their favourite tracks were not 1 week. This would not make it fair for everyone at all, like most people are saying.

There are inevitably people right now who find it unfair that Boringwood is on for just one week. Having each track on for one week is the best and fairest option available. After all, we're speaking of a game, no ones' lives are going to be seriously affected no matter what the outcome of this vote shall be.
