Truck question - Chuck - 2016-06-17 07:55

Does anybody know what this diagonal "thing" is good for ?
I've seen quite a few trailers having it but I cannot think of a purpose.

Just a guess, but is it for channeling water off the left side of the trailer?

It's a garage-door style trailer. They need to reinforce the back of the trailer to support the door when opened. It's as simple as that Wink

Actually I think Vipers idea makes a lot sense. Many shops here have sloped ramps for delivery, so that rain water will run down the trailer and mess up everything there.
That reflector thing will solve that problem.

Yeah, you are right, thats protecting loading ramps, pallets, etc from getting wet during rain when trailer is parked as on the Chuck's self-made picture (but it is not common feature, it looks like it has been done for one company, or some part of trailers). Thats because it is frigo/isotermic trailer. Courtain side trailers (most of them) are able to open the roof for loading big things, and they are constructed like this usually to protect rear side from water falling on the ramp.
