New Wheel - sezski - 2016-08-02 12:16

So until yesterday, I've had no problems with my Logitech Driving Force GT, but since yesterday; all I've had is "Wheel not connected" or my wheel being connected as the Logitech Driving Force.

So I'm buying a new one. I'm not sure what to buy but it mustn't be made by Logitech; they're good for their Speakers, Keyboards, Mice, ect, ect but Not so good with their wheels as many of you know. So I'm gonna do a poll on a notepad since you can't write what wheel I should get on the forum polls. It must have a H shifter, clutch, have a fair amount of buttons and be around 900 degrees (most up to date wheel if I'm correct)

Thanks to everyone in advance.

What's your budget?

RE: New Wheel - Adam - 2016-08-02 13:23

If you have the money buy the T300 Alcantara with/without the TH8A or the TX, again with or without the TH8A. If you don't then get the T150 or the G920/G29

The TH8A is the new version of the TH8-rs. I have the TH8A, it's fantastic.

If you have more than £200 to spend on a wheel, get something from Thrustmaster. Preferably the T300 Alcantara because it's lush.

I don't have anything right now because I've spent it on a BMX which I'm already going to be getting a refund because it was faulty so I may or may not have £200+

My birthday is in 3 months so it should give me enough, if not then; maybe christmas money too.

What is the difference between the TH8-rs and the TH8A?

If im not mistaken, then TH8A is basically the same as the RS but with more compatibility with other platforms.

RE: New Wheel - Pete - 2016-08-02 15:18

The TH8A is newer and has a USB connector. As far as I know the TH8-RS does not and can only be plugged into Thrustmaster wheels. Even if it does, the TH8A is probably the one to go for because it's newer and not much more expensive.

RE: New Wheel - Sam - 2016-08-02 18:27

Go for a T300, or if you have the money go Fanatec, such good quality products from them

RE: New Wheel - KooKoo - 2016-08-02 23:07

T500RS + TH8A. I have both and I wish I bought them earlier. Better than logitech no doubt.

RE: New Wheel - Ph4nToM - 2016-08-03 04:05

My g27 is falling apart after 3 years of abuse. Might look into those thrustmaster since they made G29 just as expensive anyway.

RE: New Wheel - MousemanLV - 2016-08-03 05:04

Had both DFGT and G27. DFGT died right after the warranty was over. G27 pedals were spiking and I had to use contact cleaner from time to time to fix them.
Now I have the Thrustmaster T150 and it works just great. T150 is miles ahead of DFGT, but not exactly as good as G27. T150 feels heavy to steer, pedals are entirely made out of plastic. If you are looking for the driving experience, you need to consider something within the lines of T300 / T500 perhaps? G27 is great, but it won't last..1 or 2 years of use and you will start to experience issues.

RE: New Wheel - sezski - 2016-08-03 16:20

UPDATE: So today I went to Argos (#BecauseBritish) and since my wheel had 3 years warrenty and I got it in April, 2014 I could either exchange it, get a different one (get money back if cheaper than price paid, or the otehr way round) or get my money back... on a gift card.

So I chose to get my money back on a gift card because they have the almighty T500RS GT6 Edition, for £350 Ohmy. So I'm going to but that with the card, birthday money and if needed, then christmas money as well. Then I'll focus on getting the shifter. This might not all go to plan but all I can do is hope, wait and see what happens. Thank you everyone for your help, anything else that can help me; feel free to tell me (I'm dumb Wink)
