[TC] Blocked? - Tommer - 2012-03-07 19:26

Hiya,

Since this evening I've found the only way I'm able to get onto the [TC] Forum's at home is through a proxy, connecting through my normal network just times out.. Is there a reason for this, or a list of things I should investigate?

On top of that, I don't see the [TC] Servers on the server list anymore. I have tried with the proxy program running but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Connecting to the specific server just times out. However I can see other servers on the master server list? What is going on here?

Does anyone have some things I can try to fix the problem, before I make a high profile of it?

Sounds like a peering issue - can you paste a traceroute?

RE: [TC] Blocked? - Knight - 2012-03-07 20:06

Ive been having the server issue on LFS, but my problem is more vast.

When i load up the server list, i can only see about 14 servers with 98 unresponsive or something, anyone know what i be causing this?

Here's my traceroute.. Would changing my DNS Server help at all?

Changing DNS wont make a difference.

Looks like a routing issue somewhere. Whilst the timing out in the traceroute doesn't immediately show a fault (sometimes its intentionally blocked) - it's likely to be a routing issue somewhere along the line.

Check out http://hetzner-status.de/

It may have something significant if you can get past the German.

Hopefully not. If it's peering related, it's usually fixed within a few hours.

You don't have Peerblock do you?

RE: [TC] Blocked? - Tommer - 2012-03-08 11:12

I tried just now and the problem is persisting Sad Any suggestions?

I have filed a support ticket as it seems to be a routing issue somewhere between you and the server. If that doesn't help, you got to contact your ISP.

Some dong apparently set up a circle.

traceroute to 2.126.145.190 (2.126.145.190), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets

Routing seems to be corrected. Is it working for you now?

RE: [TC] Blocked? - Tommer - 2012-03-08 16:06

Yeah it is, thanks Chuck!

RE: [TC] Blocked? - Clockwork - 2012-03-08 19:30

Apparently Street is still having issues.

RE: [TC] Blocked? - Nick - 2012-03-09 08:43

I'm having the same problem as Tommer. I can only access here from my phone.

RE: [TC] Blocked? - Chuck - 2012-03-09 09:07

I would need the IP addresses of the non-working peers.

RE: [TC] Blocked? - KaraK - 2012-03-09 10:57

I used to have the same thing, but after a server restart it worked again.

RE: [TC] Blocked? - Tommer - 2012-03-09 18:23

For those who are having issues, here is how you traceroute and get the information to the forum;

1. Open Command Prompt. ([Win]+R -> cmd [Enter])
2. Type in tracert forum.city-driving.co.uk
3. Let it trace.
4. Take a picture of everything it did
5. Upload to the forum, you can access the forum on your PC using a proxy program, EG; ultrasurf (google it)

Smile

Appending something like " > c:\trace.txt" makes it even easier as is directs the output directly into a text file. More handy than an image Wink
