An easy solution would be splitting the entered string and adding it into an array. Then you get the last item of the array and that'd be the channelname(in c#: array.Length -1). store channelname into a variable and use later on when sending / receiving messages. I think that's how it should work.

That would be very annoying to type every time

What about having two clickable buttons in the HUD of the insim? Channel 1 / Channel 2.

That way you can click and make one of those two your "active" channel you want to send the message to when u write !ch. So the !ch message would be sent to the channel marked as "Active" in the hud and messages are received from both channels.

Carrying on Frozens idea, what about having instant messages i.e. when you have this channel selected as being active you could have a range of instant insim messages or scripts to run on one click of the button.

so "Medic/tow required at the following location" then !location or along similar lines while still being able to use it as a normal chat channel
