Ford engines have always been really picky about the oil.

Also about the type of oil? Last time I put reasonably cheap one in and not the recommended one. I took the cheaper one that they said you can also fill the car with if needed. But I completely did a refresh with that oil.

Especially some older Zetecs and CVH's had valve lifter trouble with incorrect oil, From my time working at a garage I've noticed that Ford Genuine and Valvoline worked best on those. I haven't had much experience with newer Fords.

I'm pretty sure the newer mondeos, mk4_onwards, use Peugeot engines now, well the diesels are Peugeot.

What about taking it to an autoshop and let they solve it?

I rather first take a look at it myself. It's a fun project and saves costs.
I am a student haha

Maybe the rattle is coming from the wiper-blades? You should replace them.

Alright guys so I fixed it!

Turned out it was my auxiliary belt tensioner.
It was in a very early stage so the belt was still perfectly fine and I only needed to replace the tensioner. It was easy to take out and replace. Sadly the replacing part was only in store at the ford dealer wich was priced at 260 euro's so I called around and we found one at a car graveyard for 35 euro.

So we replaced it and boom problem solved!
