Roba: The font used for 'Police' on the sides is not particularly clear and visibility is further reduced by the black shadow behind the black writing. Other than that, it's fine, but the Police on the sides should be made clearer.

Alright.

Hello!

I made a cop skin for the xfo which resembles the police scheme of my home country (austria) and would like to get it approved for use on your servers.

Velo: If you made "POLIZEI" on the back and sides about 1.5x larger, it'd be fine.
Peyote: You need to put POLICIA on the side doors to make it obvious from the sides that it's a police skin.
Roba: That's fine, you've made the appropriate changes.

Thanks for your time and taking a look!

I made "Polizei" on the back 1.5 times the size as before, but for the sides I can't do that. It just doesn't fit, way too big. So I have now scaled it up to the maximum which I think still looks somewhat decent.

But I'm a bit confused here. I have seen quite a lot of skins around here which have the police tag on the sides way smaller than on my skin. For example the German Police skin from Pipa or also his Lexus ISF Humberside Police. Also in the same thread where Pipa posted his skins (http://forum.city-driving.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=73) you posted as response:
(2011-10-02 22:23)Lampshade Wrote:  Would you mind zipping all of the cop skins up so that we can use them as an official skin pack?

So I thought that all of his skins are allowed to use on your servers and I took them as a reference for my police skin. Especially his German Polizei skin, because their police cars are very similiar to ours.

I made a little comparision pictures, so you can have a look at it all at once. Also you can see the changes I made to the previous one.

So what I would like to know:
Is there some kind of minimum size for the "police, polizei, or whatever" like it has to fill atleast the door or has to use the whole space between the wheels or something similar? Because I would like to get my skin as close to real life as possible, without breaking your rules.
And I also want to know if the two skins I mentioned made by Pipa are legal to use or not, because of the little "Polizei/Police" on the sides.

Thx
-Velo

That's fine, nice skin Wink
Velo, excellent skin, you may now use it Wink

RE: Skin Approval - Elmo - 2012-01-16 01:46

@ MaxVelo & Lamp:

I think there's been some confusion here.
When Lamp asked me about it, I said the Polizei at the rear and front were too small. The sides (fairly obviously, as you've summarised, Velo) were fine originally. However, the Polizei on the front is far too small.

RE: Skin Approval - Pete - 2012-01-16 10:53

Elmo: "The front and back are fine but the sides need bumping up by 1.5x"

Just saying Tongue

But ok, my bad =[

Sorry, you cant use the [TC] tag on your skin im afraid.

RE: Skin Approval - Johan. - 2012-04-08 12:53

Is this skin good to go as cop-skin?

RE: Skin Approval - Ash - 2012-04-08 13:58

Johan:

Rules Wrote:- - 4.4.2.a It should have a solid base colour with large areas/panels of bodywork in a contrasting base colour and/or large stripes along the sides in contrasting/hi-vis colour(s).

RE: Skin Approval - Johan. - 2012-04-08 16:31

Alright, I'll get it sorted.

RE: Skin Approval - Johan. - 2012-04-08 22:09

What about this?

RE: Skin Approval - Elmo - 2012-04-11 00:53

IMO, the "Police" should be more clearly defined (ie outside of the badge and not too stretchy).
The base is OK now though.

RE: Skin Approval - Johan. - 2012-04-11 11:12

Alright, I'll try to figure something out.
