RE: Skin Approval - Spark - 2014-02-28 07:37

is this skin ok?

RE: Skin Approval - Roba - 2014-02-28 08:42

You aren't allowed to have "TC" in the skin, unless you are a TC member.

I thought it was only [TC] in brackets that's not allowed on any skin other than TC's themselves.

I have seen other skins with just TC on, mainly in a badge.

Instead of pretending to be an admin, just wait for an actual admin. Wink

+1

I think this thread should be put under admin tasks to avoid further confusion.

RE: Skin Approval - Pipa - 2014-02-28 18:42

That looks quite good so far. Only 2 more problems that i can see.

1. Problem

Your main livery is just not sufficient. The black on the roof would refer to 4.4.2.a Traditional, but the parts of the skin you have painted are just too small to make it recognizeable.

Same with the batternburg part. You only used it on the bottom of the car and it wouldn't very recognizeable from the distance.

cop skin rules Wrote:4.4.2 Livery

Main Livery should be based on at least one of a or b below:
4.4.2.a Traditional

It should have a solid base colour with large areas/panels of bodywork in a contrasting base colour and/or large stripes along the sides in contrasting/hi-vis colour(s).
Suitable base colours are dark colours such as Black, Navy Blue, Dark Green and very light colours such as White, Silver or pale chalk-pastel type colours. Colours such as Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple and Red are not reccommended as base colours as they have reduced contrast and can easily be mistaken for civillian/recovery vehicles. Yellow/Orange can be used for stripes if they contrast sufficiently with surrounding livery/base colour.
4.4.2.b Battenburg

If you wish to use a "Battenburg" style livery you must be aware of the following:
The colours of the battenburg itself must be Blue and Yellow. These colours are exclusively used by the Police around the world where battenburg liveries are deployed. Other colours/combinations are sometimes used by other emergency/non-emergency/recovery vehicles.
When using a battenburg livery, the base colour is less important than in 4.4.2.a, as the battenburg itself is usually sufficient for visibility.
http://city-driving.co.uk/rules/copskins.php

Just make the choosen style(batternburg or traditional) more present on the car and you will be fine.

2. Problem

rules Wrote:9.3. The [TC] tag is for use of the [TC] members only.

Do not use this tag unless you are in the [TC] team (see team-list). This includes its use on skins.
http://city-driving.co.uk/rules/

Sadly you can't use the TC tag on your skin.

I would suggest you use "CD" short for CityDriving on your skin, would probably look equally good. Smile

Apart from that nice skin Sparklez and i hope to see the skin with the changes applied on here soon Smile.

Hello again!

I remember Nick's NYPD skin not being able to be used on the TC servers and I'm currently making one for Polete. I was just wondering if this skin complies with the rules.

Here it is:

EDIT: Finished product.

Removed the pictures. Also Bez's advice would be a good idea, since this is not the place for it.

Skin design is very minimalistic and in that aspect similar to the the old Danish police skins, example:
http://bilmagasinet.dk/image/214209/0/500/620

Sadly since those designs are just too minimalistic and their main livery is not recognizeable enough the danish police skins were only allowed to be used as VCU skins and not as general cop skins.

I feel this is a similar case and that skin can therefore not be allowed to be used neither as a cop nor as a civlian skin. Sorry :/

If you want a final verdict you can chat up Elmo, but i am 99% sure these will not be allowed.
The skin does look very nice though, kinda a shame.

Sorry to budge in but doesn't that look just like a regular car? I see the same issues in that and Nomuken's SO police skin. And we all remember how that wasn't accepted..

RE: Skin Approval - Spark - 2014-03-05 19:00

Hey Pipa i would love to know if i can use this skin on TC?

Sorry for OT but the skin that Nomuken made was all messy and stuff, Ossis skin isnt messy so its easier to regocnize IMO.

Apart from the racing stripes his skin is very similar to a normal us police skin and should be easily recognizable.

RE: Skin Approval - Toni - 2014-03-05 19:40

Acceptable? If not what needs to be changed?
Looks just fine for a cop skin imo, no dark colours and is easy to recognize?

Still does not change the fact that it does not look like a police car, but what ever you say.
