Police Fining Massive Amounts - Snotrap - 2018-05-08 23:04

Hey!

I noticed during the couple days people being fined massive amounts.
People were getting pretty frustrated too.
I ran a red light and got fined 60 pounds (my fault and that's a reasonable amount).
Another person ran it a couple minutes later and was fined way more.

I think greed should not rule cops.
It damages cop and server reputation.
Its a real issue.

Please do something!

Fines are decided mostly on the offense itself (and the cop's judgement, which sometimes can be wrong, which is normal. We all have mishaps and misjudges) and how frequent it is. F.e. if a person is constantly running a red light, the first fine is always either 30 or 60, but if that civ continues to run red lights, high fine is given (for example, careless driving 100€). In case that civ runs a red lights and endangers someone, a Dangerous Driving fine is given (can start on low, then mid and high finally). At least that's how I rule out on fines. Sometimes I just give out verbal warnings.

But ye, some cops are greedy. High fining chases when no major rule-breaking was done, giving a high fine for small things, among others.

I understand the fines just that cops are being greedy.

If you feel you have been fined unfairly, you can always make a refund request.

The fine amount follows some scheme and is not randomly chosen. Or at least must not.

Quote from the server rules:

Quote:4.9.1. Variable Fines
Some offences can be charged with variable fines (low/med/high). When selecting a variable fine, all of the following factors must be taken into consideration:
- Severity of the violation
- Duration of the violation
- Repetition of the violation
Note: If the offence is "Failing to Stop", the Duration of the chase is already automatically accounted for. In this case, you should take into account only Severity and Repetition of other violations during the chase.

If you don't agree with a fine, make a refund request.

Which has been said already, over 2 weeks ago.
