That's what they all say. Ask the guy that mowed down my best friend, he also said he was "fine and under the limit."

Why I don't do launches with the Evo Biggrin only from speed

RE: Something New You've Got... - Audiojack - 2017-03-31 12:06

Get grippy tires, the clutch will fail. Get a grippy clutch, the cv-axles will fail. Get some sturdy axles, the differentials and transfer cases will fail. Get some stronger diffs, the gearbox itself will fail... After you've found all the weak links and got them done, you'll probably want more power, and so the cycle begins again. W00t

Done plenty of launches with my car, but had a smaller turbo. I was trying to drive the same way with a bigger turbo. I'd rather break shafts though, sti boxes are bloody expensive to replace.

Those second hand drive shafts were probably well used when they were back in Japan as well Tongue

Much cleaner although I no longer have a CD drive bay, had to saw and drill out the rivets to make the cooler fit. Doing it was the loudest thing I have ever heard. Worth it though Smile

Cherry Pepsi is quite common here, but that ginger one certainly does look interesting, never seen that one before.

In case I break another driveshaft, I can drive the car home Tongue

Also buying it to see if I can tweak the handling a bit to handle better on the skidpan.

Woo, fiddly bits!

Curious how that little box works stephen. I know HPA offers a controller for VW/Audis, but since all the diffs are electronically controlled it's pretty easy to see how they do it, but aren't yours mechanical?

There's an electromagnetic clutch beside the mechanical one in the center diff, used for controlling the torque distribution. It's actually a pretty complicated system.

RE: Something New You've Got... - Stephen - 2017-04-20 12:00

Turns out the seller has no stock and won't know when they'll have more Sad Looks like I need to hunt around to get one then.. But yea the center diff (in an OEM 05+ STi DCCD at least) is PWM controlled based on a combination of yaw sensor/g sensor/wheel speed/steering angle/throttle/braking/handbrake inputs. You can override it and set it from 35:65 (open. Acts like a rwd, throttle steering Biggrin) to 50:50 (locked)
