Ahh but one may argue that if a car manufacturer finds it so easy to forget to turn the system on, then perhaps the driver might make the same mistake too.
Ahh but one may also argue that if one should watch the road in front and not need such a system in the first place.
Anyways, even if Volvo's system only works, say, 1 in 5000 times, it's better than the system not being there and causing 4999 other crashes
Also, what do you do when the not-Volvo behind ends up rear ending you?

It'd hit you even without the auto braking system, and if it works at least you've got all your front crumple zone left for when the guy behind punts you into the truck anyway

There you are, you just lost control of the car on a winding rainy moutain side road and end up on the edge of a cliff tettering back and fourth as you look down at the road way snaking down the mountain, you decide you should going call your spouse or 911 because you may not be alive to much longer, but due to the fact your blood pressure is elevated you can't make a phone call - the car won't let you... you decide to try calming down, finally when you get the all clear from the car you attempt make a call, ring.... ring..... hello? Just as you answer, the car go's over the edge, you heart rate spikes, the car dissconects you as you plummit down to the roadway below, your last thought is FORD = Found On Road Dead....
