No, the -5k ban is to protect the system / economy. There can be no exceptions to this.

Also a -1 to the idea as a whole. Admittedly I haven't read the whole thread, because the lack of paragraphs makes it difficult to follow unfortunately.

The idea is cool, but I feel like it would take a lot of insim work to have it working without any human input. I'm not fully sure how much it would actually benefit the server to have such thing, or how you would force people to connect there if they require it. The idea reminds me of LFS training & gran turismo driving school though.

Not only implementing such InSim would require huge amount of work, most of the suggested lessons are pretty much impossible to implement in a way which wouldn't require other players assisting the "student". InSim can not just generate traffic.

On top of that, if such server was supposed to be made mostly for banned people, I can already imagine what it would look like. I believe it would require constant admin supervision to keep it any playable and in the end I think most of the players who end up there would still need to be banned from such server.

So to summarize, implementation of this suggestion would require massive amount of work, it would increase admin workload and it would give none (or barely any) benefit to anyone.

Actually InSim can control AI cars since test patch 0.7F5 so it is technically possible to simulate traffic.

My thoughts are: if the player can't be bothered to read and follow the rules, that's on them. If you have a player in that scenario, given my experience with those kinds of players, they also won't be bothered to take a forced driving school thing seriously, so the effort needed to code that into insim will probably be for naught.

Reading the rules and understanding them is the bar for being able to play and that's a pretty simple access control. The admins do a good job removing those who can't be bothered to read the rules, or who wantonly refuse to follow the rules.

In the case of "[for] repeated offenses[,] TC staff gets yet another tool to punish people that violate server rules", nah we don't need a second way to punish. If you're banned, you are informed to review the rules. If you earn the ban, eat the ban, or attempt to prove why you should be unban

this suggestion seriously is needed when watching that.

actually i think im gonna make a video of it, just to show how impatient and bad behaved drivers do in a mass cruise. and lets just say i dont think it makes developers proud in any way. full gas, sudden stop. full gas sudden stop. instead of just letting the car roll nice & easy with a good braking distance. and then ofc theres those who force their way into the cruise line, not to mention those how cant drive normally and drift in the cruise line.

i actually gonna make a video showing that. because it does actually show there is a need for this suggestion.

I think your beef with this is misplaced. Maybe it's time we just ban anyone playing on a laptop (they can't see), or if they play with mouse, trackpad, or keyboard Rolleyes

There's nothing you can do from a development point of view to curb people using subpar control methods, using a screen that doesn't let them adequately see, or honestly, care about driving properly. A lot of players join to rot their brain and they simply don't pay attention. No code you write will help with this.

ATS/ETS is totally different to LFS. There is no competition between those two.
