RE: Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Hexta - 2012-09-05 21:08

I made the mistake of installing Arma 2 and DayZ via steam. I had to uninstall steam just to select a different harddrive to install it on!

RE: Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Lewis - 2012-09-05 21:27

Excalibur publishing has pushed the release day back yet again from 28/9/12 to 19/10/12 :/

There's an easier way to do that Tongue
Though Steam saves all the games in one place, so you can't give seperate games seperate locations.

Go to your steam folder, copy the Steam.exe and SteamApps folder to the location you want your games.
Delete the old steam folder. Run the Steam.exe in the new folder, and Steam will be installed there Smile

Better than BF3 though, which requires the POS that is Origin and a full blown browser with dodgy plugins running just to launch the game.

As far as Steam goes, it depends mostly on the actual game developer as to how much Steam is integrated. Some games you get through Steam don't care what mods you use and some don't actually need Steam running to play them at all.

I've had more issues with steam. The only EA games worth buying IMHO are The Sims and NFS. As soon as the NFS dlc needed origin I never updated. My gaming laptop is a mean machine, even most system programs aren't running just so I have almost full access Smile it will be time to upgrade soon that laptop is now 2 years old holy crap!

RE: Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Nipper - 2012-09-09 12:10

Steam is shite yes.

Bought Skyrim on PC from a brick and mortar store, got home, HAD to install steam before I could play..

For what? Skyrim is single player, never needs a connection. Except updates and mods, which Steam manages to mess up for me, on every update.

Next time, I'll pirate the games I actually enjoy if this is the future of gaming.

(Funnily enough, my bro has a pirated Skyrim, fully up to date, all DLC etc, and he has no steam crap to deal with... So I paid money to be messed about?)

RE: Euro Truck Simulator 2 - KaraK - 2012-09-10 05:35

I like steam, nothing wrong with it so far imo.

RE: Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Cola - 2012-09-10 06:10

Agreeing with KaraK here. I haven't ever experienced any trouble with Steam. Works really well for me, fast downloads and games available everywhere, without having to bring an old physical DVD with the game on it.

RE: Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Roba - 2012-09-10 09:28

Now we can get back to the ETS2, right? Tongue

The release date haven't changed in Finland so far, it's still on 30.09.2012
I already ordered it, so I should get it by that date. I have quite high hopes for it.

RE: Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Roba - 2012-09-24 14:01

So the release should be within 1 week pretty much everywhere, am I right?

Who has pre-ordered or is going to buy it when it's published? Smile

I'm really waiting forward to try it!

EDIT: Just saw the release date is pushed back nearly month -..-
