After 100 releases it STILL only includes one track. lol

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Mr. NB - 2012-12-06 17:55

Yeh, it would be amazing, if he has done that kind of work for all the tracks, but even just that, makes me happy.

He is probably putting a lot of effort into all this.

Oh my god that pack is amazing, very high res ftw! Biggrin

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Malibu - 2012-12-06 21:47

Why don't they just hire this guy?

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Zipppy - 2012-12-07 00:47

I tried this texture pack on Server One, but my enjoyment got cut short from a CPW.
That means I can't get on for a period of time.
I have no idea what triggered it. ..and it was not the textures, that's for sure.

I'd try to get a hold of Scawen in >this< thread, since this is what he reads quite often probably. If not, you could try opening a thread in Technical Assistance forum section.

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Elmo - 2012-12-07 14:14

It was exactly 10 seconds after you connected, so it may have been a CPW late/timeout.
I thought CPW only banned after the third try...

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Rasmus - 2012-12-07 15:00

Damn this pack is very nice Biggrin They should hire this guy, then S3 would be done soon Biggrin
Its funny 1 guy can make the grapichs better then the makers of the game haha

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Elmo - 2012-12-07 15:51

You mean 1 guy better than 1 other guy, right? Tongue

Also don't forget LFS' texture resolution is deliberately kept a little low for file size and performance reasons. Having said that, the more recent tracks (Blackwood v3, South City v3 and Rockingham) look pretty good IMO.

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Pete - 2012-12-07 15:52

I thought that too Elmo, they've pushed the boat out on textures for Rockingham.

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Mr. NB - 2012-12-07 17:34

To me, LFS already does look good enough. I am not the graphics guy, but i think that LFS can look quite good, if you play around with the settings for a bit and use such textures.

Guide - How To Make LFS Look Better: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=537798

The only thing that i am missing, is a new car or a track every now and then or even just a progress report more often, even if it would be just a "we are still working on it" kind of report. Just something to keep people believing, that LFS is not dead yet, as some are assuming - not me personally though, i do believe that LFS will get much more popular, once the new psyhics are released.

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Josh - 2012-12-08 14:14

I've downloaded the 4096x4096 pack but it isn't working.

They won't extract properly (I think it's 'compression rate not supported') and LFS Can't open them.

Any ideas?

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Chuck - 2012-12-08 14:15

Download the 2048 ones? Im using them.

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Josh - 2012-12-08 14:17

Trying those now, just waiting for the DL to finish.

Still getting 'unsupported compression method' with the 2048 pack. :/

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Mr. NB - 2012-12-08 14:34

I've switched to 2048 ones aswell, 4096 x 4096 are nice, but i think that they are a bit of a overkill to be honest. I do not want my LFS to load half an hour everytime, to load the textures.

Might sound stupid question, but how did you install them?

What you need to do, is extract them and then copy all the files from inside the folder (without the folder itself), into /data/dds.

If that does not work, i've no idea what else could cause that.

RE: The Revolution Pack December 20th, 2012 - Josh - 2012-12-08 14:42

I download the pack from the official website. I try to extract the .rar but it gives me the 'unsupported compression rate' error.

I can access them in WinRar and copy them over but LFS doesn't load them.
