Inspired partially by Pauls photo and also because #newcar I washed the Civic today as well Smile

I also cleaned the interior as I like to do to new purchases and found this under the drivers seat. Could be a FIA-certified racing shoe Wink

This is where the magic happens.

I've never understood the intake/exhaust setup on motors like this. It's easier to flip the two out the intake on the front and exhaust on the rear. That way the exhaust doesn't run under the motor and doesn't add additional heat up by the radiator.

That is true, although I bet there's some benefit of doing it that way. Perhaps the correct header length is easier to design when the manifold takes a longer route?

Anyway, the more modern Honda engines have done exactly as you say, like the K-series:

Mazda did it too, I'm curious as to why manufacturers did that in the first place though.

Drove the Jetta around yesterday and tested the video recording feature on Torque.

#sweg

Waiting for parts to arrive from the manufacturer to the retailer so I can get them... And next saturday I'll go fetch summer tires, Speedline rims, BC Racing coilovers and a Focus Acoustics 6" 2-way speaker set.

I'll also need to replace the black unfitting front bumper ASAP, it's waiting for some tender care in the shed but I have to do some brake caliper renovation before that to make sure they're ready for installation.

Bits that are missing from the rear brake conversion:
- Caliper repair kits (rubbers, seals etc.)
- E-brake cable and wheel bearing/hub assembly to one side of the car

I will be using CRX trailing arms, lower control arms anti-roll bar, brake booster, master cylinder and calipers, Brembo "stock replacement" disks, Ferodo DS2500 brake pads and HEL-Performance braided brake lines.

The front disks and pads are already Brembo&Ferodo, and I will install similar braided lines to the front while the fluid is drained.

Photos from yesterday, I was doing some repair work with my dad on his car, replaced both tie rod ends for the next MOT inspection...

No can do, two of them are in different municipalities and can't be driven.

It's just PlastiDip rubber coating because the wheels aren't actually painted at all yet and they need protection from winter.

That black panel under the tail lights screws with me every time I look at it haha.

Not mine but I did a ton of mechanical work and will be driving it if we end up turning it into a track car. My friend paid $250 for it. We replaced the starter. So we removed the intake, plenum, air box and both rear spring/shocks since they were cooked. For less than $1000 he'll have a perfectly running driving cruising 5 series with 112k

That's gonna get painted as well when the weather gets better. The old panel was totally shot because of all the rust so it had to go.
