That's not a good thing. Fiestas are buckets and only slightly better built than Saxos.

RE: Show us your ride - Bradd - 2012-06-02 16:40

Don't see why all the hate on Clio's it's a decent first car, same with Polo's, Corsa's, Fiesta's. They all have their pros and cons.

RE: Show us your ride - Audiojack - 2012-06-02 17:53

I'd never want to own any of those aforementioned cars (that's why my first car is a 2 liter engined vessel). Also, a Clio is a nifty lil ride but just (like any other french car) a pain to fix because of the subframe always being in the way.

RE: Show us your ride - Bradd - 2012-06-02 17:57

Mate pays 4k insurance a year on a 1 litre Corsa, hence why in the UK we always have to have shitty first cars Tongue

Nail. Head.

Even with my car, and back when insurance wasn't so high, I still had to pay £1800 to insure my car. I paid £1500 for the car itself. It's all very well saying 'I don't want any of them', but it's one of those or no car at all.

And if you think fixing a Clio's hard, try a new age Merc.

RE: Show us your ride - Malibu - 2012-06-02 18:50

I'd go with no car.

I have, they don't even have a plug in the oil sump Laugh

After my friend died in a car crash with a Clio i'd never really liked those cars or any small vehicle. Although my Ford Sierra from -89 nor any off my Civic's is any better.

I fail to agree. Smile

Gonna post pictures again soon, when I get on my vacation Tongue

I'll concede that 106 GTIs are very good cars Wink

Nick, you don't own a 458 Italia.

RE: Show us your ride - Nick - 2012-06-02 21:46

You weren't mean to guess straight away Sad

RE: Show us your ride - McGherkin - 2012-06-02 21:58

Yellow car, triple exhaust? It's gotta be a 458 Wink

Don't tell me they let you drive it...

RE: Show us your ride - Nick - 2012-06-02 22:11

No but I'm allowed to ride in the passenger seat while my dad does, so I'm calling it my ride.

RE: Show us your ride - Bradd - 2012-06-02 22:13

Think it would look quite good next to the Micra Tongue

Disagree - very well built. The newest models are amazing

RE: Show us your ride - McGherkin - 2012-06-03 00:49

Not while Tubby exists on this earth Wink

Mk.6's are nice but wayy too expensive for a first car.

I'll have to agree there or I wouldn't have one I suppose Tongue, but it's rather expensive to keep one. Have to fix something every week, lol.

But to be fair on it. 900kg and a very strong 120bhp engine which revs to 7.5k. I don't generally drive it fast. I'm normally driving it like a granny to save om the fuel, but when I feel like it a blast along the B roads just make me smile every single time.

Insurance can be a bit of a problem, but obviously less than the Clio 172s and Civic Type R's and still a very nippy car. It's generally considered less of a "chavs" car than the Saxos, worth about twice as much (compared to the VTS equivalent) and less of them about. Makes it much better. Smile

Tax is £220 a year though Cursing Gone up £5 again this year.. for what?

RE: Show us your ride - McGherkin - 2012-06-03 01:47

Back in recession y0.

106's are on a par with Clio Williams Smile

A mate has a 106 GTI as a runabout while his RS is off the road, I don't think he'll be selling the 106 when it's finished!
