I'm doing this report on behalf of Erlend since i was able to save the whole replay. Erlend agreed to "rent" his FZ5 to Rally for the duration of our activities (We were drag racing, he wanted a car). Long story short, Erlend wanted the car back and Rally would not want to give it back. He's complaining that the FZ5 was a "gift". The replay shows the attitude in general of Rally towards the situation.

TL;dr version: Erlend lost a car and wants it back. Bitching ensues.

Can we do something about that?

Thanks.

If you send someone a car, there's always the risk of not getting it back, I think that has been said before in a number of places on the forum. If Rally wanted to use an FZ5 he could have easily just left pits with it, costing him money, but without the temptation of keeping it for himself.

I doubt anything can be done, as Erlend knew he may or may not have gotten the car back if he sent it to somebody else. If you want to send a car to someone in future (this applies to everyone) make sure you actually know the person well enough and you know for a fact they will give it back to you. Or just tell them to rent one.

I will have a more in-depth look at this later.

Generally, as with money, cars are sent and traded at the owner's risk. However in the case of cars, we may take action if the aspect of the servers (selling/buying cars) has been compromised to an extent where it could be seen as scamming.

Watch this space...

Bumping this thread to see if any solution will be provided to Erlend?
From what i can see, the user at fault has not connected since 14 days and the only car still available is the one that once belonged to erlend (http://insim.city-driving.co.uk/carinfo.php?vin=AANSA).

Thanks!

Bear with us, we are still discussing this.

The car has been returned and the user has been banned.

Action has been taken as described.

Thank you for your report.
