Cop Testing Failures
Well, Ive never been good at tests, even back when I was in school. I suppose its a brain issue. Ive taken the Cop test several times, studied the guides, and answered the questions according to the guides. Im not sure if I have gone insane or I am just confused on multiple answer questions. I have a good understanding of being a Cop on TC servers as I have been a Cop since the autocross/Non insim TC Days. Its really the main reason I play. I understand I can apply for training but I assume the training has to do with actual driving skills in which I do not lack.
I guess I am looking for something to help me get through the actual test other than the guides. Maybe a run through of the questions/explanations for them if that makes any sense? Im at a loss. I went through high school needing the same help, as it is quite pathetic I will never get my cop rights back If I dont ask for help. Thanks, Dizzle. |

RE: Cop Testing Failures
Are there any rules/sentences in the manual which you do not understand?

RE: Cop Testing Failures
Not in the manual. I suppose its more of the answers to the questions on the test I do not understand.
For example you have 4 answers to most questions, and Im not sure how many answers need selected for each question. If that even makes sense, like I said its more of a personal issue I suppose so its hard for me to explain. I submit the tests with confidence its a passing grade but its not. |

RE: Cop Testing Failures
The questions are largely common sense in respect. For some people a language barrier can cause issues and so can a simple disability or lack of understanding.
Most of the questions have the answers in the Police Guide. At most (I believe) they only require 1 or occasionally 2 answers. (as in more than 1 correct answer). Take your time and read the questions carefully, the answers can be challenging at times because copping is a strict thing on this server. If you need further help, even in private, feel free to drop a PM to me or the Admins and I/they will run through in a little more detail to try and get you to understand from a different perspective |

RE: Cop Testing Failures
I will be trying again when I am able. Ive believed I have some type of issue my whole life just never "diagnosed" I guess youd say. Even the training my job requires I have issues getting through the test portions even If I completely understand the subject.
I agree to copping being very strict and in the past I always had a good name being a TC Cop. I will make another attempt later this week, if it turns to be the same results I will just remain a TC civilian. Thanks, Dizzle |

RE: Cop Testing Failures
Just keep trying is your best bet. It may get frustrating but that's usually the point of tests, you fail, then you analyse on what you failed at to then improve. Take note of what it tells you to improve on, read it up in the guide.
It may get frustrating but that's why it's good to have the cool-down period |

RE: Cop Testing Failures
dont panic. ive heard of similar cases
also during the test, dont panic! really take your time. there is no timelimit. look at every single answer on its own. Is it true or not without comparing it to the other answers like "is it this, or the other, or maybe third?!". just one checkbox, true or false at the time. read VERY very carefully, there might be a hidden "not" somewhere. open http://www.city-driving.co.uk/links/ there your open: rules, finelist, manual, police guide. look up during the test if you only have a slightest minimal doubt about a question (or even no doubts). ctrl+f is powerful to search thru sites gl next time |

RE: Cop Testing Failures
Barney said it all. There is actually nothing stopping you from having the manual/rules/fine list open whilst doing the test. Class it as "open-book test" if you will.
It is not cheating because you are making a conscious effort to get the answers yourself, and you will absorb the information. |

RE: Cop Testing Failures
Passed the Test. I got jumped on today after being beside a car in a chase and guiding them into a barrier. I can not find a rule that says not to do this.. Can anyone guide me to it if it exists?

There was a discussion regarding that "manoeuvre", is it acceptable or not after Leon had posted that gif. Link to the thread, you might want to read through the comments.

RE: Cop Testing Failures
Yes it's a fuzzy one to judge and is very opinionated. I see it as, if there's a reasonable distance between the cars meaning the opponent swings his/her car into the victim to cause them to have little control of their direction and path of the vehicle, it's a ram in my eyes (also meaning I slightly disagree with Leons gif however, it's an awkward angle to judge) and rams are not tolerated but saying this, cops are allowed to use this minor swing effect to create a possible box maneuver, but only into walls, not barriers. If it's a side by side push and redirection of the victim, it's allowed. But this is only my words after discussions with 1 or 2 other senior [TC]'s.
It's becoming increasing popular so things maybe getting done about it. But let's not go off topic please. Congrats on your test. Feel free to apply for police training to enhance your skills and motivation as a cop! |
