RedLine Presents: Yuletide Rally 2024

DETAILS:

RedLine Team is sponsoring a 24-hour maximum distance rally event, working in collaboration with the [TC]CityDriving team. ALL of the community is invited to participate :)

If you compete, your objective is to rally against other competitors to rack up the most distance in a 24 hour period. The top 8 participants will each win a TC Euro cash prize.

TRACKING:
Distance and other data will be tracked with the Rally InSim, and can be tracked on TC World.

STAGES:
This is a single stage event, there are not multiple stages.

WHEN:
- Event beginning FRIDAY, 20th DECEMBER at 5PM GMT+0 (UK Time). You can check this website to compare what that time will be in comparison to your local timezone: https://www.worldtimebuddy.com/
- Event lasts: 24 hours. Completing on SATURDAY, 21st DECEMBER at 5PM GMT+0

WHERE:
- You may drive on EITHER [TC]CityDriving 1 or [TC]CityDriving 2. No restriction on which server you use. Also no restriction if you change servers mid-event.


REWARDS:

Base Pot: 750k TC Euro

1st place = 250k TC Euro
2nd place = 175k TC Euro
3rd place = 125k TC Euro
4th place = 75k TC Euro
5th place = 50k TC Euro
6th place = 30k TC Euro
7th place = 25k TC Euro
8th place = 20k TC Euro

Winnings will be paid out within 48 hours of event completion.

SIGNUPS:
- The sign-up will open on 2024-12-08 12:00 UTC here.
- Your driver NUMBER can be selected by you, but it's first come, first served.

RESTRICTIONS:
- We intend this to be an open-choice event. You may run ANY vehicle you wish. However, it is not advisable to utilize HGV or HEAVY vehicles to compete. There is strategy in picking the right vehicle to compete with, and it is your choice.
- COP's will be able to play of course and can pull over competitors. How you choose to handle interaction with Police is up to your discretion.
- [TC]CityDriving rules apply at absolutely all times. Competitors should respect sportsmanlike compeition. Competitors who get banned for conduct (Code 1's don't count) will be disqualified from the event.

ENCOURAGEMENTS:
- If you intend to seriously compete, we recommend to begin showing up about an hour or 45-minutes early to your TC server of choice. It will be busy and you will want to get a spot.
- Please be respectful of others. Ramming or other nonsense will not be tolerated, do not compromise other's ability to compete. CONVERSELY: if you are competing, respect others who are, or are not competiting. Admins will be online and will be doing what they do. Follow the rules.

Q: How to sign-up for the Rally?

To sign up for the Rally, head to the [TC] World Rally page, and select the Rally.

Selecting the Rally will show you information about the schedule, a link to the Sign-Up page, and a list of participants.

Press the Sign-up here! button, and fill out the box(es), including your desired starting-number.

Q: How do I start the Rally?

Here is an example how Insim will look like*, and what will it require for you to start a stage.

First off, clicking on "HOME MENU" in Safe Zone will give you a new box on the bottom, called Rally

After clicking on Rally, you will be taken to a new box, where you will be shown information about current stage, if you currently have one active, or you can select a new stage by clicking Show available stages.

The list will show what stages you have finished, what stages you did-not-finish and what stage is currently available.

Clicking on one of the finished stages will reveal more information about the stage itself.

Clicking on an available stage, which you have not completed yet will give you information about the stage, distance and time left to complete the stage

Starting a stage, and knowing you might not be able to complete it successfully, you can choose to retire from the stage by going into Rally menu, selecting the stage and click Retire from current stage which will also be visible to everyone on the server

After you have successfully driven the stage distance, the message displayed in public chat will announce you have completed a stage

Hi everyone, I am getting this message out soon after the conclusion of our event.

First, we wish to thank all participants for joining us in this first-ever event. All-in-all, things went smoothly and we worked through the planning stages efficiently. This is thanks to efforts put in by both TC Admins & TC Dev, and Redline Leadership, as well as Community support which we are grateful for.

We will tally scores and remit winnings, within the next 48 hours. Another post will be sent on this thread.

Overnight, we were made aware of a couple of integrity issues done by two particular competitors, who each made changes to their own LFS mod vehicles to obtain an unfair advantage. One made a change before the event, the other made a change during the event. This is what happened and these are the facts.

I want to state clearly, other than the team member of ours who chose to do this to their mod, RedLine and any of our fellow participating team members were NOT aware of the change made to the Koenigsegg mod, until it was brought to our attention by a TC Staff member. As a result, the Koenigsegg was disabled by TC staff, and the person responsible was disqualified from the event.

The other participant who made changes to their mod before the event, did so in clear intent, taking advantage of a gray area of the rules. TC Staff and Redline agree this participant will see their earnings halved , but will not be disqualified.

RedLine did not conspire together to put together an unfair advantage. Spreading slander among the community about this is foolish as well as false. We took this event very seriously and were hoping for as much community engagement as possible.

It disappoints me personally that we had this issue with integrity. Those who ended up with top positions did earn their place by putting in the hours and racking up distance. This is noteworthy in case it is currently in question that the entire community did not get a fair shot to get in the top 8. Those top 8 participants put in anywhere from 18 to 22+ hours of driving.

For potential future events, we will clearly mark this activity (deliberately enhancing a mod's capabilities for competitive gain) as clear grounds for disqualification.
