The big difference is that traditional maps have separate roads whereas Weston has a giant area that happens to carry some roads in it. Example there are two adjacent roads divided by a fence with a little (non-road) gap in it. You're on one side and the suspect on the other. You could squeeze through the gap so you would assume the distance to the suspect is just 10 metres, but following the road along some fence and back is something like 1500m. That ain't gonna work.

i still think this could need some finetuning. imho its still a tad to easy to lose contact. and i mostly recognize this while being a robber, not a cop. as alrdy mentioned especially at slow speeds and with uturns the trail is way too short(and/or the timeout too low) and the radius around the suspect too small.
for example coming from the offroad bridge to the villa, even if go back from villa and have a cop at the bottom of the bridge, he will lose. and another thing as a cop: the join mode... i come from hw south heading north in join mode. picinside (Click to View) cops are slightly behind so i wanna go left via hw to get infront. at this point i get into chasemode middle of the chicane picinside (Click to View) have to uturn and lose contact at this point, even tho we are both at southpark picinside (Click to View) both shouldnt have happened iirc regarding Quote:-Upg: Complete new join-mode detection to check whether a joining cop is really behind his suspect. I also noticed that there is a high chance of COPs losing contact on Jamaica Offroad rings, two days ago I was in a chase, when I lost the suspect while I literally could still see him. Unfortunately, I don't have any screenshots or replays, but a fact is a fact. I believe other COPs have also experienced that at least once.
Another place where I lost a suspect was in the Swamps, I was on the Dead Man's crest, while the suspect turned in the Swamps, and I, willing to cut off the suspect, which was going on the road, went through the grass, but when I met the suspect on the end of the road (by the tyre stack), I had lost the chase, even tho the suspect was visible physically and was too close to me for losing the chase. |

When my suspect flew in dead man's crest, he hit the barrier and flew into the swamps, I entered the swamps and he was behind the tree while I was at the entrance, he was next to that yellow tyre to be specific.
Still, I managed to lose him even though I saw him infront of me! |

Lost a chase today for giving way to oncoming traffic at a junction for a couple of seconds, yet the suspect was only just leaving corkscrew when I had stepped on the gas again.
Added a poll for everyone's opinion. |

I think it's fine how it is, but it maybe might need more improvement, its all up to chuck but I just wanted to share an opinion.

Im convinced its now a bug issue. 98% if the time now everything works great and the distance for chases is set perfectly Imo. But on occasion I will lose a chase when the suspect is clearly not far enough. Its seems this happens when the server is full. Ive failed to document these occasions and let it go because its not often enough to annoy me.

Similar incident for me earlier, I was a bit late responding to a uturn bind, so my uturn to follow the suspect was delayed. The suspect managed to get a head start and the 15 second countdown initiated. I managed to catch up a fair bit, to the distance shown below, yet I still lost contact. The red arrow is where the suspect was on the minimap.

I feel as if the system does need a little bit of tweaking on the basis of the distance when losing suspect. It is still quite easily losing contact when you're not on the same road and you're not able to take any shortcuts that would gain an advantage over the suspect in the old system.
I think there should still be a radius that you can stay in and still stay in contact with the suspect when taking a shortcut. That way, you won't lose the suspect just because of the road you're on. |

Add distance to system, example if you are in 300m where suspect have been you are in chase besides with time

Not sure if this the right thread or not, if not feel free to move this post to the correct thread.
I was in a chase with RDP•Angel [COP] and [COP]SPOOFMAN[FR]. Angel spins in a turn and Spoofman tows, meanwhile I nearly manage to get to the other side of the track, without loosing contact with either of them. Here is a picture to illustrate it: The dot to the right is them and the dot to the left is me. Throughout the whole chase in general Spoofman is very far away from me, but yet still manages to stay in contact with me the whole time. Pretty sure this happens with Sydney every time. There was a new implication of the chase system to fit Sydney before, it looks like that may need to be in effect for the duration of Sydney?

I was the suspect on a chase today. I only managed to escape having 800m distance with the cops which is almost impossible since an uturn trashes all the distance you made |

Hmm maybe change the distance between COPs & Robbers that once the robber pass COPs lose the chase in South city?
800m is too much. |

Wait a second, on every other track InSim uses 10(?) green bullets to count how far away you are from your suspect. On Sydney it's back to distance?
