Police Uniform - A good or bad idea?

I was wondering what people would think about trying out having uniform police skins.. EG, All wearing the same livery, I'm not suggesting we do but I want to hear what people would think about it.. A discussion thread if you will

Personally, I think it would be a good idea because it encourages a team spirit in that we're all grouped together by something in common, and would help make Police Vehicles more easily recognizable where before no two were the same.

At the same time, I think that people enjoy having unique skins.. and don't nessacarily want to be stuck to one skin.. However we could allow certain customisations such as adding a team tag to the roof or allowing small bumper stickers or allowing people to use there own car kit over the base skin so that it can be personalized a little, but it's still obvious that they are part of the team.

We could hold contests for skin design contests every few months or so were people get to choose what the next livery will be but obviously that would require skinners willing to make whole sets rather than single cars. Maybe a big insim cash reward for the best set could be given out for every contest?

I added a poll just so people could say whether they like the thought of it or not, but you should leave commments explaining why you do or don't like it

Personally? I like the idea but that is my opinion.

Wouldn't it be a bit difficult to force that kind of a thing? Especially with some of the more.. stubborn users. (Would result in unneeded fighting over such a minor thing)

Also people have made loads and loads and loads of nice cop skins so far and they would then all pretty much go to waste.

Well, I never said it was a serious Idea, I just wanted to see if and how much people would oppose it. I pretty much guessed that people would raise the issue that there are already so many custom skins.

Personally the reason why I actually like the thought of it is simply because I think that when everyone wears a different skin it is less of a police 'force' and more of a shamble of disorganized mess, diversity is a good thing, but in the work place seeing each other as equal is a good work ethic for teamwork, no? And if you saw a bunch of police cars in the same livery behind you, you would see it as an organized force not to be opposed instead of an angry mob who don't know what they are doing

There are obvious reasons to oppose the idea, but I personally think it could have a big impact on how people veiw the [COP] role, where people are no longer trying to be 'loose cannons'. I don't know, just my opinion .

The statistics are interesting though, it would seem 1/3 of people are actually with me on this

I feel it's, like you said, a shame that I can't use the skins I really like anymore, or the skins I made myself. But I actually see what it may do to the police 'force', and I guess it would improve the gameplay a lot, therefore I voted yes.

In theory, it would be mostly a good idea. However, I don't want to restrict peoples freedoms to be creative with their cop skins - otherwise, we'd probably have made this a rule years ago.

I think that's already what happens with team police skins which is realistically as large a group as you're going to make.

IMO Private police teams in themselves carry there own separate reputation to that of the [TC] server's which also means that they would have to train their own officers.. Not many people within the community readily would have the resources to provide this kind of training and in all of the police team's I've seen to operate on [TC] they all have taken the easy way out by not providing training or selecting only already-skilled members.. who are sometimes not actually very skilled at all. The end result is a poor reputation team that nobody wants to join.

I wasn't suggesting a real team, but more of a police unit. That way even people in teams can join and you would end up with some potential.
