Thought I done something wrong, or the insurance didn't go through properly but seems not. Ive only been pulled once (because I had only just bought my new car and it was registered to a guy in North Wales as DVLA hadnt changed it over yet) and hated it tbh. I know I hadnt done anything wrong but they kinda make you feel as if you have. I cant say the police officer was bad, because he was being quite decent; but its a tad annoying when they don't even belive anything you say. For example, he asked me if I had a 2.0 Vauxhall engine (redtop) in my GTI. I couldnt help but be saracstic (who would ever put a redtop in a GTI?!), but he even had to to open the bonnet for him to check the engine code to the VIN number just to make sure. Checked all my tyres, checked for a de-catted exhaust, checked for any modifications etc. I did get a positive point from him as I was leaving as he commented how nice the car looked. So atleast I smiled for a bit after. But to be fair; the traffic cop side of the police force do a really good job in terms of keeping the illegal cars off the road. I pay stupid amount of money on tax, insurance etc to keep me on the road legally; but I just don't see why they really need to pull you over when they have all the details infront of them on the ANPR system anyway. When he spent the 5 minutes behind me getting all my details up; there was a vehicle infront of me speeding. I don't get how a "routine stop" is more important than speeding? |
