Sig's Bangers - Official announcement and discussion

Presenting Sig's Bangers, the first event made in collaboration between Street Obsessions and Above&Beyond. The event will be held on July 9th, 2022 at 7 PM (19:00) UTC/GMT time.

According to Wikipedia: "Banger racing is a tarmac, dirt, shale and chalk track type of motorsport event popular in countries such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands. Old scrap vehicles are raced against one another, with the winner being the first to the checkered flag after a set number of laps. Contact to damage an opponent's car is permitted and encouraged within the formula, with cars progressively becoming more damaged throughout an event."

Sig's Bangers format will be as follows:

• XFG Only
• Fern-Bay, custom layout
• 6 Heats of 12 laps, random grid order
• 1 Final heat of 15 laps, grid determined by most points after the 6 heats
  

Point System

• Points to be doubled in the the finals
• First place: 10pts
• Second place: 9pts
• Third place: 8pts
• Fourth: 7pts
• Fifth: 6pts
• Sixth: 5pts
• Seventh: 4pts
• Eight: 3pts
• Ninth: 2pts
• Tenth: 1pts
  

The Rules

• In the case of an equality in the points for the finals, the driver with the most laps driven will be declared winner.
• If you late during an active race, you may participate in the following race if there is enough space.
• If your ping is too high to participate in the event, you will be asked to spectate.
• You must go forward at the start of a race. Any intentional braking on grid or reversing off grid is not allowed.
• No full speed ramming, pushing and spinning is fine.
• Opposite direction is allowed only on bends marked by yellow lines.
• Pinning, blocking or intentionally preventing a driver from racing in a fair manner for a significant amount of time is not allowed.
• No pitting and rejoining any races.

Donations are accepted and should be sent to SO●Seabass noctambule Use of the banking system is highly suggested as it will help with donations tracking.

100% of the money will be given back in the following pattern:

• First place: 22%
• Second place: 20%
• Third place: 18%
• Fourth: 15%
• Fifth: 10%
• Sixth: 5%
• Seventh: 4%
• Eight: 3%
• Ninth: 2%
• Tenth: 1%

Just a quick update to let you know that the donation tracker is up and running, and we are pleased to say that at the time of writing, we currently have 308,500$ collected for the event! We are still collecting donations for the event, feel free to transfer the funds to my account, "noctambule".

A server should be up and running in the next few days with the layout available for everyone to try and practice on. We will also accept suggestions for improvement on the layout or ideas to implement if possible.

I would like to thank everyone for participating in the event, it was a real success. As luck would have it, the DDoS attacks on LFS server decided to offer us a break during the event, which we're very thankful.
