Rules Quote on Skins

The Rules Wrote:4.4 Skin: (Clarification, March 2009)
Cops must use a skin that easily identifies the car as a Police car.

- 4.4.1 It should be highly visible so it can be recognised at a glance from a reasonable distance.

- 4.4.2 Main Livery should be based on at least one of a or b below:
- - 4.4.2.a It should have a solid base colour with large areas/panels of bodywork in a contrasting base colour and/or large stripes along the sides in contrasting/hi-vis colour(s).
Suitable base colours are dark colours such as Black, Navy Blue, Dark Green and very light colours such as White, Silver or pale chalk-pastel type colours. Colours such as Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple and Red are not reccommended as base colours as they have reduced contrast and can easily be mistaken for civillian/recovery vehicles. Yellow/Orange can be used for stripes if they contrast sufficiently with surrounding livery/base colour.
- - 4.4.2.b If you wish to use a "Battenburg" style livery you must be aware of the following:
The colours of the battenburg itself must be Blue and Yellow. These colours are exclusively used by the Police around the world wher e battenburg liveries are deployed. Other colours/combinations are sometimes used by other emergency/non-emergency/recovery vehicles.
When using a battenburg livery, the base colour is less important than in 4.4.2.a, as the battenburg itself is usually sufficient for visibility.

- 4.4.3 The word POLICE (or POLIZEI, POLITIE, POLITIA or similar) must be clearly visible on the front, back and sides of the vehicle in a clear font, in colours contrasting with the background.

- 4.4.4 Police insignia such as police force badges/logos and lights can also be used to improve identification of the vehicle.

- 4.4.5 Other insignia such as racing/team/advertising logos should be kept to a minimum as they often reduce visibility and can make the vehicle appear unprofessional.

TC Reserve the right to deny the use of any skin we feel is unsuitable.

RE: Skin Approval Thread II
Can I just ask why another thread was made? My old post got deleted, and the moderator who did it was too lazy to answer my question.. not even in a private message..

Well, looks like I have to stay on topic for an answer.. Is this allowed, or is it too American?

That skin is fine, regarding first question, to get back on track with the thread itself.

RE: Skin Approval Thread II
This is one, I made up. I had lights on it but took them off cuz it's a cruiser skin. The reason of the low enforcement, it is a VW thing. For car shows ect;

RE: Skin Approval Thread II
Hey Boosted, couple of questions;
a) Could we get a higher res image please? (so we can see the writing)
b) Is that a cop skin, or a cruising skin?

If that is a cop skin, then it is too low profile - if I cant tell from an image that size, then it isnt high profile enough
If that isnt a cop skin, then it seems that it may be easily mistaken for a cop. However I wouldnt make a call on that one, I would let a leader take a look at the larger image.

Thanks

Question: Can we have skins that are team skins but also cop skins? Like a cop skin with a lot of team markings as long as it meets the tc requirements for cop?
If this skin is not ok please tell me why and make reccomendations.
Thanks, Ross

PS: the skin now says police on the back on the chevrons too

Could you upload the 512x512 pixel or 1024x1024 pixel version of that skin?

Otherwise, a screenshot of it in-game from a couple of angles would do.

That skin just looks like a race skin with one or two markings stuck on it. From the front you would not know that was a cop. I would wait for Elmo's decision, but IMO to fix it
a) Take off the racing stripes
b) Put "POLICE" on the front and back
c) Make the battenburg extend all down the side of the car
d) Put some kind of cop marking on the front (lights, or a badge, or yellow markings)

RE: Skin Approval Thread II
Ok..... Here is what my skin is sapost to dictate, It is a thing that was going on at a VW car show out here in the U.S. called H20. It is not a real cop car at all. What it involes is at the car show the guy drove around and was writing fake tickets stating your car was not low enough. I cant seem to get any of the pictures bigger but on the side it says p71 low package, low enforcement and stance unit.

RE: Skin Approval Thread II
In my books, it would be OK (just)
I will PM elmo, and ask him to make a verdict.

Thanks for your patience.
