Grid qualifying for rounds 1-3 of CityLiga 21 saw Elmo, Luke and myself qualify into grid 1 and Howlin, Connor and Nick qualify into grid 2. Shikari, Kieran and Spark from [CSR] and Carl from [RDSR] also qualified into grid 2. The next grid qualifying session will happen before round 4 and will determine the grids for the 2nd trio of races.

All of our drivers chose to use the XFR for this round largely because it is more stable than the UFR and less likely to roll over on some of the curbs around Kyoto National (KY2).

Grid 1 qualifying results were as follows:

- Pete 4th (+0.02)
- Elmo 20th (+0.88)
- Luke 21st (+0.95)

The top 15 drivers in grid 1 were separated by less than half a second and the top 21 drivers were separated by less than 1 second.

With Nick absent, grid 2 qualifying results were as follows:

- Connor 11th (+0.94s)
- Howlin 22nd (+1.93s)

The top 13 in grid 2 were separated by less than a second.

Going into the race we knew it was going to be hard work to keep our positions and some of us did better than others. The opening 5 laps of the race in grid 1 were crazy. The entire field was in a train with everyone swapping positions at every corner. I finished in 7th in the end after being overtaken by a UFR on the finish line after an intense final lap battle. Luke climbed 5 places to finish 16th after a continual battle with a handful of drivers throughout the race. Elmo dropped 1 position to finish 21st after showing promising pace during practice and qualifying. It was a tough race for all but since it was the opening race, we knew it would be tricky.

In grid 2, Connor brought it home in 17th, dropping 6 places. He spent the majority of the race in or just outside of the top 10 which would have been a superb result for his first race with us but he can be happy with his performance overall heading into round 2. Howlin climbed 5 positions during the race and finished 16th, 1 place ahead of Connor in the end.

The next round sees the LX6 take on Aston North Reversed (AS7R) for 34 grueling laps. The live stream link will be posted a few hours before the start of the race.
