Hello guys!

Cryptocurrency has been all over the news recently, with many people being attracted to these "digital currencies"in the past couple of months. I've not seen any thread on this topic here, so lets get some people's opinions of these Cryptos and anyone who's actually invested their money into them! Biggrin

I've invested around £300 myself, and until 2 days ago, I was actually making a decent amount of profit Tongue

The Crypto's I've invested in are:
  • BitCoin (BTC)
  • Ripple (XRP)
  • DogeCoin(DOGE)
  • LiteCoin (LTC)

If anyones thinking of investing, then use my referral links below and we both will benefit from some FREE BTC!!!

Brad thinks this is a very good idea.
I'd love to do this, if I had the time and the money xD

Unfortunately I don't have any money, or time Sad
I have the time but not the money..
I´ve invested some risk capital into some coins. Mainly in Etherum, some in Bitcoin Cash und I wait for the bottom for IOTA. Alle in long term, so I´m not afraid about corecctions in last 2 days.

I believe in Etherum in cause of his Idea. Bitcoin Cash is just some fun investment. If I lose everything its OK, but if it make 100 % up, I´ll sell.

But I think investment into DodgeCoin and Ripple is complete useless. Why?

1.) DodgeCoin: Just surfing on the hype-wave. There are no updates since over 2 years and the whole project is nearly dead. This is a typical coin for going down, when the market clean hisself.

2.) Ripple: Around 69 % of the coins are still in the wallets of his developers. Its there for 2 reasons. No. 1: For some inflation if the coin get to expensive for using it properly as a way to buy things. No. 2: If the coin gets very hight, the developers sell their coins, make many FIAT Money (USD $$$$$$$$Greedy and get rich...investors going down.

But the big hype is over for now. The good Coins will go up and down for some month and we will see some coins going down forever. Until the next hype in some years.
No, I don't.

If you already have a good, diversified, portfolio of other assets and spare cash to burn then fair enough. However most people haven't and ultimately this isn't an investment it's a bet. Most people investing in crypto (especially BC) now are doing so only based on prior returns - lesson #1 of anything is not to do that.

What matters is risk-adjusted returns for investments. Otherwise, as I said, you're not investing you are betting. Some will win big in those cases but some will lose it all.

e.g. just looking at the current price, if you bought on Tuesday you'd be 20% down right now.

A few links to balance this out so you can do your own research rather than riding the bandwagon or listening to any of my opinions:

My experience is positive, up 2.5k from a 500 quid in 2 months ago, I converted some to Etherum which seems to be raising.

I may consider Day trading in smaller Crypto currencies.

A friend in my work is up 7.5k from 4k in which is madness for a two month investment.

When compared to conventional investments the rewards can be great.. although its very volitle and the risks are substantial.
Here we go, and the journey begins.
I really hope that you sold your £300 BTC because 1BTC just dropped to 10k$ (from 17k)Greedy .

I wouldn't bother with it personally, even the idea of mining BTC through some service ie: nice hash or whatever sounds fishy. (mostly from where all the BTC you're buying is coming from)

i dunno brad, a lot of people like to bet on sport etc. so why cant they bet on bitcoin?
Brad wasn't saying don't bet on it, he was saying don't treat it as a bona fide investment strategy.

Great one! Thanks Biggrin
Razz, in the current situation of the markets being as they are, would buying a small amount £10-ish be worth it at all in the coming weeks/month? I don't have big money to spare, I'm just looking to try and make a bit as quick as possible (just broke people things)

The problems are in the taxes, but yes, everything it's worth if you know when have to do.

You have to look at the graphics of the coin, and when it is going down, buy them. Then, wait. As soon as them go up, or you have enough benefits (remembering the taxes), sell them Smile

I would say yes. Looking at the market right now, its dropped again but then again the market itself is VERY volatile Tongue

Considering you're spending £10 and not a larger amount right now, it wouldn't be too bad to take the leap right now. Looking at https://coinmarketcap.com/ the majority of coins have fell in the past 24hrs.

I would say invest in the "cheaper" coins, just so you'll make more out of your £10.

PM me if you need any help Tazz Wink

/facepalm

Don't bet what you can't afford to lose. Basing your judgement on buying when it falls is risky and pure guess-work which might pay off sometimes but other times you will lose.

You may as well go put it on Red or Black at the roulette table Wink
