Noticed this in the insim changelog:

Quote:-Chg: Getting spec'ed for wrong-way on track no longer resets trip.
-Chg: Getting spec'ed for wrong-way in a safe-zone no longer resets trip.
-Chg: Getting spec'ed for speeding in pit-lane no longer resets trip.

Would it be possible to add OOB as well? people wrong way on purpose all the time, but sometimes being launched OOB is inevitable thanks to the physics of the game. It would be nice to have that, i'd be willing to give up the other 3 just for that one.
I think those changes are for technical reasons, and not to just make trips easier to obtain. For example, there have been a few isolated cases where a user has lost their trip because they drove close to the pitlane wall, confusing the InSim into thinking they were in the pitlane. AFAIK this is/was not an easy thing to fix.

IMO your suggestion should not be implemented.
What is the argument for it resetting by going OOB if none of the others trigger it to reset now?

Going OOB is more likely to be by accident rather than the other deliberate rule breaking activities.
The 3 exceptions above were made as the reasons leading up to them were often of technical nature. E.g. getting too close to the center-barrier on Kyoto, or too close to the pitwall on Sydney. As we have the random starting points now, its easy to forget if there are active pitlanes with speed-limit. So that could get you off guard as well.

But those 3 reasons have one important thing in common: Your car is moving and you are in control. And that's what the trip is all about: moving and staying in control.

If you end up OOB, you basically lost both. Hence no trip.
What stops people from throwing cars OOB if safepit isnt a thing?

99.9999% of the time, being deliberately or accidentally rammed and flying out of the map (again physics) is completely outside of your control, just like when the server connection craps out...
I understand your point Jardim, but this in itself would probably find itself being abused - There would be nothing stopping a user just sending themselves OOB when they cannot be bothered going back into the pits...

The other ones were implemented to help resolve some bugs that have came about, not just because why not.

I see no reason for this to be implemented.

One doesn't simply fly out of bounds. If that happens, something bad happened before, usually a violent crash. If that's no reason to lose the trip, then none is and we can remove the trip altogether as it has lost all meaning.
