Heyho everyone,

The Christmas update will bring some significant changes to the car system with the goal to add more variation on the track. I’m afraid there is no linear way to explain this, so you may have to jump from paragraph to paragraph to fully understand. These are the changes:

Different editions:

We now have different car editions. For instance, an entry level FZ5 and a GT version, or a police and TOW version. Cars/car editions may have different characteristics in terms of crash resistance, cruise speed and intake restriction. These characteristics are not modifiable and will stay the same during the entire lifespan of a car.

Police Editions: Offers good physical contact protection, and is suitable for endured high-speed driving.

TOW Editions: Offers good physical contact protection, but is slower than base cars. This edition comes with a winch and ramp included.

Base Editions: Offers an average crash protection and an average cruise speed. Not well-suited for endured high-speed driving.

(added)
EMS Editions: Offers an above-average crash protection and an above-average cruise speed. Good for sprints but not well-suited for endured high-speed driving.

Full details are also provided in-game in the car purchasing menu.

Car characteristics:

Crash resistance: Every car will take a certain amount of damage when crashing into things. Cars with a higher resistance take less damage. This is particularly interesting for cars that often have physical contact, such as police or TOW cars.

Cruise speed: Defines the highest speed you can go without overheating the car. The temperature is a direct factor to the car’s wear. The lowest temperature is 70°C, which means the car wears down at a rate of 0.7. This means it will actually last longer than defined. The highest temperature is 150°C and will obviously wear the car much faster. It’s important to choose the right car for the right job.

Intake restriction: Some cars may require an intake restriction, in exchange for a cheaper price and more variation. It’s necessary for you to set the right value (or more) in the car’s setup. As normal, you will receive extra income for driving with restriction. If you fail to set the right value, Insim will not allow you to spawn.

Limited editions: The new system also supports limited editions. Every car will receive a unique serial number, and once they’re all sold, they’re gone forever. Those cars will appear from time to time, maybe once or twice a year.

Tradeable items:

The following items are tradeable: Garage, locator, ramp, winch, and radar-warner.

All purchasable items can be sold to the [TC] Dealer (for 80% of their nominal value) or traded among users. Yes, you can send them to other users! Or, you can just collect them. It’s your choice.

* Free items like the garages that you start with and items which were part of a car-package-deal are not sellable to the dealer.

Installable items:

The following items must be installed on the car to be used: winch, ramp and radar-warner.

Other items, like the locator, work without being installed.

Installable items can be uninstalled and swapped between cars or even sold. It’s your choice.

Winch:
  • Must be installed per car
  • Costs 5,000€
  • Wears off
  • Good for 1,000 uses

Ramp:
  • Must be installed per car
  • Costs 2,500€
  • Wears off
  • Good for 4,000 uses

Radar-Warner:
  • Must be installed per car
  • Costs 2,500€
  • Does not wear off

Conversion of old data:
Your old property (winches, radar-warners, etc) has been refunded at the price you bought it.

Apart from the things above. XMAS Sale is on! Cheap cars for everyone Smile

I hope you enjoy the new features.
