I have been playing on TC for a while now, I do like it.

I had this idea of adding an official President/King/Major to the server. This can be one person (unless you add for example a president AND a King), and they carry this title. This person does NOT have any admin right, its more like a title thing.

You may ask: If he doesn't have admin right, then why add such a "job"?
Well, I am from the netherlands, and here we have a king: king Willem-Alexander. He is part of the royal family. However, he does not get to say a lot about how this country is being ruled. We have a political system and prime minister who do these things. Still, Willem-Alexander is king of the netherlands, and has palaces and stuff.

So what can we expect from a person being president/king/major of the TC city Driving server?
Well first of all, exampleship. Just as COP and MED/RES, this President-person has to follow the rules. COPs cannot give him a fine. If a president misbehaves, people can report him, and TC people can "fire" him. (take his presidental status away).

Secondly, and this is the "real" reason for adding a president, this person can request an escort/convoy. This is where COPs (or maybe special agent or something) drive in front and behind him and escort him around the map. COPs may/must use the !siren and strobe and when near other traffic/crossroads they also have to use audable siren.

The president/king/whatever can use strobe, but no siren. His car needs to be black (with preferable gray rims, to look "normal"). He can also have a black skin with added LED-bars (abit like the VCU-skin, but then black).

Please let me know what you think of this idea.

We do this exact thing from time to time with [TC] members and [VCU] units and it works well in a small team when everyone knows exactly what they are doing and can work well together - I can already see a massive chaos of random people trying to do something like this or it just being a constant flood of "escorts" all day every day. Tongue

Things like this are one of the "perks" (if you can call it that) of being a [TC] member and having access to [VCU] and such, so personally I think it's better to just keep it to us to do such things. And, to be honest, I'm sure a lot of people would agree with me that it's more interesting when it doesn't happen so often or just on special occasions.

Also, how exactly would you choose who can/can't be this role? By an election or vote of some kind? Since that's not exactly how royalty works. Tongue And the same question can apply to the COPs who are allowed to escort them, too, I guess.
There are some nice ideas. I like the idea of having a president and the activities that come with it such as "elections".

I struggle to see it surviving past the novelty stage unless there is something in the insim to support it. I'm against allowing someone who would still technically be a civilian to be above the law.

Maybe like some application thing, where a person has like a minimum km + experience being COP/TOW/MED, and overall a good reputation.
Maybe the President/king can change every few months, like an election, where he/she can also become president again. Or maybe, in case of a major, have a major per map? So someone can be major of fernbay "jamaica", but not of blackwood for example.

And COPs who do the escort can have special training, altough you can keep it kinda simple, with some fist rules, like:
1. Keep a steady pace, especially if you are the first vehicle.
2. Keep distance, dont tailgate. To prevent head-tail crashes.
3. Use MOVE OVER command or something for smartguy citizens who participate in the convoy. If there are enough COPs, one can pull the smartguy over and fine him.

I would think that the president has sort of the same rights as MED/RES. So they have no priority over other traffic, but they can use siren/strobe, just like MED/RES. However, in a police convoy, they HAVE priority, because the COPS also do have priority, because siren.

BY THE WAY.
I think major is better than president. I mean, a president doesnt drive on his own when he is not in a convoy, right? Maybe the major can, but he can also be escorted.

Therefore, major > president/king
So? Yes or no?
