Full Version: Canceling SOS call

I am suggesting a new button for the SOS system, or maybe just a simple "!cancel" command, that would cancel the SOS call and inform the services that have responded on it, about the call being canceled. A simple red-colored line in the chat would do the job, but a "/rcm" message would be perfect.

If it was the additional button that was implented, it could of replaced the SOS button, if any service has responded on a call. If not, there would be no need for that.

I am suggesting that, becouse what sometimes happens, is that the caller already gets helped before the arrival of the police, paramedic or a tow and even if he does mention it in the chat sometimes, this message could be quite hard to notice, especially on a full server, while you, as either of those, are in the rush and are focusing on the road mainly. So, you often do not realise that, before you arrive on the scene, which is empty. Well, if you are following the tracker all the time, you might aswell notice that the caller is moving, but sometimes this is hard to notice.
+111111111111 for this.

However you get the message across (that they have cancelled it) it will be so helpful rather than the emergency services responding to the scene.

To add, I'm pretty fed up of driving to the other end of the map just to see a civillian has helped. Maybe if it's a dangerous situation, fair enough; however tipped over cars on pavements, can they just be left to emergency people? At the end of the day, we put [TOW] in our name because WE want to TOW; i can't stress to others (although it isn't a rule) to please leave the scene and let the specialist do their work.
Sorry Daniel, but saying you're a specialist just because u have a skin and have tow in ur name is bollocks. Tows need to respect the fact some people want to tow their friends. For the original idea, yea why not.
Regardless of Daniel saying Tagged users are specialists, I still +1 for this idea. I'm fine with others helping out, but really, if there's a MED/TOW/COP dispatched, why bother helping? On tracks like FE it only takes a maximum of 2 minutes from The Beach to Towngate. If you're going to get helped by your friends, don't calltow in the first place.

And COPs aswell, a few times there's been a TOW and a MED responding, yet when we both arrive the COP has literally just finished the job. Since when should COPs be allowed to do the jobs unless nobody else respnded?
Just because you're responding doesn't mean no one can help him.
Often you call for a toe, then a nice guy comes by and tows you.

There's no rule for it, and there shouldn't be. Unless the tow is already on the scene, everyone can help the guy.
Also, tows, meds ánd cops get called when someone requests a tow. Whoever gets there first has always been that way. Even before the system, and among tows. You get there and the job's already done? Too bad, should've gotten there quicker.

+1 to NB's idea though, would be nice knowing someone already got towed Smile

I don't agree with that.

Moaning at people for flipping someone is ridiculous. If you had seen seen someone flipped in real life and there was emergency service near your telling me you wouldn't help them?
Just imagine that "helping civilian" had a tow tag. What difference would it make to you? You still drove across the track just to notice there is no work left for you.
However, a "cancel" buttons seems useful anyway.
One last word: You don't need to feel obliged to drive across the entire track when its clear that other cars are way closer to the caller. That's what I think is "professional", to pick-up that word again.
I don't mean, we're specialist as in.. we have grades and got a degree on TOWing, what I mean is, we've change our driver name because we WANT to TOW, and help people, that's why we do it?
I understand that, but yesterday I helped a flipped car just to get moaned at by a MED who isn't even a TOW and probably would've just sat next to the flipped car with a strobe on and done nothing. I remember the days when you could be on your roof for about 10-20minutes because it was hard to get a TOW, and now we have people complaining because people are helping each other lol
i don't complain about "civilians" helping each other, but really annoying are those people, who arrive at the towing scene, when i'm already doing my job there, and start blind ramming into the flipped car.
i try to help too, no matter what car i got under my ass... except uf1 maybe

well if someone arrives before i do and i see... ok that doesn't seem to work how he's doing it... i ask the person to let me try it.

savy, you say medics only stand next to flipped cars, being proud to be allowed to use a siren?
for some time now i wear a medic tag instead of a tow tag... but i don't really act different. i'm not even excessively speeding with sirens to my target.

well to get back to the point... i support the idea of a cancel BUTTON, not a command (people will click the button to get rid of it, but they are too lazy to type a command)
+1 for a cancel button. Would be quite handy.
