Hi guys, I've been running a small server running the Direwolf20 modpack for friends, we're a very small community, some people are spread across the map, there is atleast one area where many people live. This modpack has many of the tech mods and magic/alchemy mods you would want to use.
The mods are pretty easy to install too.
Download the launcher from http://feed-the-beast.com
Setup your profile in the launcher and launch the Direwolf20 Modpack

The rules are small, they're at spawn. If you need help everyone on the server for the most part can help you. If you'd like to join just post in this thread with your minecraft username and I'll whitelist you.
