Yea, they haven't been around for very long, less than 10 years I'm sure. I've read plenty of bad reviews about the 07 - 10 models, but this is a 2012 model, so I'm hoping they have ironed out some of these issues. Only plan on keeping the bike for 4 or 5 months, to build up confidence. Then I'm looking to get a CBR500 The bike has only done something like 1800kms, so it's practically brand new.

Nice bike, Roba
Back to attack the thread again. Picked up this 1982 one Friday, finally got to cleaning it today!

Fully loaded except sunroof. Factory radio, factory AC, factory power steering, deluxe trim, larger rear drums, rear wiper and extreme undercoating lol. 49,000 miles and I'm the second owner! Currently not running, debating flipping it or keeping it.

I had to change the rear brakes in order to get it rolling

Still hadn't washed it at this point

How to remove a rusted on rim Mk1 style lol
A friend of my father is trying hardcore to get his wheels off his crappy Hyundai winter car.. Largest thing he has is...
Undo the bolts and loosen them 1 or 2 rounds, get in the car, drive slowly and zig zag. Works a charm Smile
If I can't get my wheels off, I usually just kick them (preferably the edge of the tire, not the rim).

Ya tried that didn't work lol. We had to use a torch in one to heat and burn the rust away.
Worked like a charm on my POS 95 Chevy Cavalier when i finally decided to change my tires a couple of years ago.

On the downside, the studs came off with the wheel. Meh.

That looks amazing, Blade. Nice find!
Hard to believe that's the same car you posted the other day. Ohmy
Only issues I have left to fix are the rear doors, the trunk(they are all frozen shut) and why it's not running. I could turn it now for $1500 for an $1100 profit or fix it and daily it. I am going to see if the motor is locked up tonight, if it is I guess I'll sell it. It's ashame I'm already in love with it!
having an alternator issue with my car.. I think the pulley on it is slipping.

Nice, love the color Smile
Looks nice, Cola! Smile

I'm thinking of buying a new engine for my car, just because I have a good offer for a F20A4 engine, which is the same block as my car but it has fuel injection instead of carb and atleast 40 more horsepower (probably more since my engine has done over 290 000km without being taken apart). Also the whole engine has been driven less than mine, and it was fully rebuilt and has some slight mods to it too (lighter flywheel etc.)

I can get the whole package for half the price of the timing belt set that comes with the engine.

I'm sure it will be sold pretty soon though so I hope it will still be there tomorrow Laugh
I'd go for it if I was you. If you got the money and the time to swap the motors. You've got a nice body already. You will end up with a brand new car basically!

Exactly this.
Got offered a Fox that runs and looks solid in trade of my gold one.

Looks good (especially the interior!), i always liked the simplicity of the Fox body. It would have been better if that was a 2-door (my father had a blue one).

You already have 2 rabbit (plus your gold one). Maybe its time to have a new breed in the garage Wink

Change the tires, detail the exterior and flip that car. That will be some easy bucks.
Well I'm still undecided. But the starter was bad, but now I think the tranny is bone dry or cooked Sad
