A volvo usually looks like a hearse, but this one just tops it..
So... my car was stolen from outside my house last night - picked up and put onto a low-loader most probably. Absolutely devastated, more so that an added extra for the car was an anti-tilt alarm which is supposed to prevent these kind of things.
oh, oh dear.

on a serious note, that does suck :/
lol
Really sucks Brad. I guess they were pretty damn careful lifting it if they didn't set off the tilt sensor.

Your a *Removed*, and I mean that totally seriously.
Unlucky brad, was a really nice car too =/

Any information from police?
Yeah, the Police said they dont usually start looking at CCTV, or investigating the theft until approx 72hrs after... which is nice.
Your fezza? Aww brad :/
Aw, that's pretty damn shit Brad. Best of luck in getting it recovered/replaced.

Thanks, I'm not holding out any hope of it being recovered, but it does have a few small unique identifiers even when the number-plates are changed, so be easily recognizable.
I'm more worried about the impact on my insurance for the next 4-5 years.
WHAT?! They don't look at it until it it's too late basically. What a load of bollocks.
I dont think i'd want a car back after it had been nicked anyway, not unless it was something special (no offence to fez).
Yeah, I know what you are saying special, having your car back after some thugs have been inside it and ragged it around would massively put me off. However I would prefer to have it back and maybe sell it legally, rather than have it declared a total loss
Aww Brad, I'm sorry Smile

It does suck to have anything stolen, but when it's your pride and joy, it will sting that little bit more :/

I genuinely hope you do get it back, and in one piece though. Good luck Smile
Im sorry for you're loss brad Sad Hope they get you're car back.
What is the function of a tilt sensor? Is it to set of the alarm if the car is tilted? I might sound stupid but I have never heard of such a function before.

Looking very good Smile Like the clean look.
There supposed to trigger an alarm when theres a change in the cars angle. They use mercury as a base. Any movement in the car will shift the location of the mercury and ultimately trigger the alarm to catch the thief. So in theory, it should prevent theft of wheels and from it being towed. I don't know how they bypassed this in brads case. Gl with your search brad
Awh Brad Sad I hope the police gets these *Removed*...
The worrying thing at the moment is the possibility of someone using the VIN number which is displayed at the bottom of the windscreen to get an illegal key copied from some dodgy dealership or company Ohmy

Quite alot of cars have that kind of alarm.. like the old Volvo v70/s70 have it. The alarm usually go off if you lock it on a boat as it's usually big waves and stuff that sets off the alarm Smile
