However I'm hearing rumors the Alltrack will be headed stateside. So I may stop spending money on the Golf for now and start stockpiling for the Alltrack. I have always always always wanted an AWD Golf/Jetta wagon. It's slated for a 2017 release from what I'm told if we are in fact getting it.
IMg-
Not a bad car!
You are also going to modify the Alltrack?
And you are gonna sell your golf then?

Yes that's the plan! I will more than likely lower it or put it on air ride. The AWD system is very high tech and is the main reason I have always wanted one. It modifies abs pulses when in different driving modes, alters traction controls reaction based on the surface etc. It also has the same 1.8T 16 valve as in my golf but it instead has a DSG dual clutch automatic.
and
I plan on keeping the Golf and Rabbit, but the mods on the Golf have already started to take a turn where street driving is going to be quite uncomfortable(I'm on the reservation list for a single mass flywheel and 6 puck clutch, ordered stage 2 polyurethane motor mounts etc)

So the AWD system provides traction to brake every wheel separately?
How does it work with differentials on the car? All open? and the central dif controlled by the traction control?
It's been awhile, been banned almost two years now. Anyways, I almost died 3 months ago from an accident that isn't entirely my fault. Now looking to get back on the road after having dealt with unemployment and all that when I was told I quit, yet company actually terminated me over some thing stupid. Long story on that. Hiya folks, been a while!
Almost 6 months, and 9,000 miles later, here's Meg!
As you can see, I've done... Well, nothing to it. Still the same color, same wheels, same engine.
While I initially had plans for a 4AGE 20v (yes, a blacktop
) swap, I'm finding it REALLY hard to justify the swap, because it's simply too fun as is. I caught dem feels for how much character the car has, as a package, as it drives, as well as how nice it sounds (thanks to a K&N filter)... From how the 145 wide tires scrub going around a roundabout at speed, to how it'll hit the limiter in 2nd from a launch in the wet (or, so I'm told
). It really is a strange one. The one thing spurring me to do the swap however, is the power/weight ratio. Even stock, it's rated at 102bhp/tonne (think Fabia vRS, 1.6 Fiesta Zetec S, etc) right now, but with a stripped interior and a healthy 4AGE, that'd bring it up to just shy of 200bhp/tonne.
Now that's something I'm looking forward to.
First snow storm of the year
yea it was really fun haha
Oh god, Toni... You've bought an accountant's car....

But not now, as im off to work on the Craprolla, as the exhaust is about to fall off completely due to the mounts being rusted out lol.
If i may ask, but why spend 700+€ on a car like that?

Cause it will pay itself back when you keep the car for several years.
Here is how it looks after I spent about 3 hours working on it in my workplace.
